AIIMS Bathinda became fully operational in 2019 and admitted its first batch of 50 students for the MBBS course. In 2022, the institute incorporated PG-level programmes (MD, MS, etc). Admission to AIIMS Bathinda is done on basics of different national entrance exam, like NEET UG for MBBS and BDS courses, INI-CET exam for MD/ MS/ MDS/ DM/ MCh programmes, and the AIIMS Nursing Entrance Examination for BSc and MSc Nursing courses.
100 seats are available at AIIMS Bathinda for the MBBS course. Students interested in gaining a seat for the aforementioned course have to first register for the NEET UG entrance exam, attain a valid AIR (All India Rank) and appear in the NEET UG Counselling process conducted by MCC.
Note that just taking part in the centralised counselling process does not confirm admission. Students have to complete the choice-filling process, and if allocated a seat at the desired college, they have to physically report to the college and pay the fee as required.

Aiims Bathinda is spread over an area of 179 acres and houses 960-bedded hospital equipped with comprehensive OPD and IPD services, a dedicated Trauma and Emergency wing, and 19 state-of-the-art modular Operation Theatres. The institue also has hostel servives and 24/7 library facility.
