Advantages-
- First of all, Deoghar (Jharkhand) earlier didn't had good medical facilities. So there is load of patients and variety of patients. It is a very good advantage for students.
- Labs in AIIMS Deoghar are well-equipped for every branch.
- Hostel facilities are much better.
Disadvantage -
- As the construction of AIIMS Deoghar started late so the classes are not conducted in any government college but they are conducted in PTI (panchayat training Institute)
- Library are not of that standard which other AIIMS have.

AIIMS being a government university has the liberty of setting its own course syllabus. To get admission into AIIMS Deoghar for Nursing courses, candidate must attain the rank as per the cutoff list. For the General AI category candidates, the closing cutoff ranks for different specialisations varied between 208 and 2100. The NEET UG exam is the primary way for admission in the MBBS course at AIIMS Deoghar. Candidates from other states can also apply for admission and appear for the NEET UG exam and must achieve a valid aggregate in the same.
