Aliah University has a seat reservation policy for various categories. For BTech programs, 20% of seats are reserved for WBJEE candidates, while JELET candidates are allotted 2 seats for lateral entry.

All such shortlisted candidates whose documents prove to be authentic, should give the confirmation sheet, admit card for particular programmes and rank card, admission receipt, passport-size photographs, and original mark sheets of Class 10 and 12. Proof of age, PC/PwD certificate wherever applicable, migration certificate, transfer certificate, character certificate, residence proof, and a medical fitness certificate in the case of Nursing candidates should be submitted by candidates.

Direct admission to the Aliah University Kolkata BTech is not applicable. Candidates must appear for the Aliah University Admission Test (AUAT) entrance exam to secure admission to the BTech course. Students are shortlisted for final admission based on the BTech eligibility criteria and the exam scores. The university releases a provisional merit List/ result based on the exam performance.

Aliah University offers a total of 30 seats specifically for lateral entry across its BTech programmes. This includes 6 seats each in Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
