There are two question types in JEE Main exam. Multiple choice questions and numerical ability questions. In MCQ, every question has 4 options with only 1 correct answer. Select the correct option. In numerical ability question type, no options are there. Solve them and write answer using keyword and mouse.

Q:   How many questions are asked in JEE Main exam?
A: 

Paper 1 has 75 questions where Physics Chemistry and Mathematics, each section has 25 questions. Out of 25 questions, 20 are MCQs and five are numerical value questions. You must answer all 5 numerical value-type questions. All 20 multiple-choice questions are compulsory. Complete all 75 questions in 3 hours.

NO, it is compulsory to attempt all questions in the JEE Main exam. The JEE Main exam has negative marking and candidates must answer only those questions for which they know the correct answer. Students must note that there are no minimum marks in JEE Main that students need to score. Students gets All India Rank based on the marks they secure in exam and gets admission based on that rank.

Yes, JEE Main exam has negative marking. 1 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer.

Q:   Is there any mock seat allotment in JEE Main counselling?
A: 

JEE Main counselling do have the provision of mock seat allotment. JoSAA will conduct a total of two rounds mock seat allotment where candidates can check which college they get based on the choice filled by them. Candidates after registering for the counselling have to enter their preferred choice of college and branch in the order of preference. The allotment of seats will be made on the basis of All India Rank and choices filled by the candidate.

Q:   What should be the frequency of taking JEE Main mock tests?
A: 

Candidates should take JEE Main mock tests at least once a week. However, in the last month before exam, frequency should be increased to 3 to 4 mock exam per week.

Q:   Can I change the language of the question paper during the exam?
A: 

JEE Main question paper is in English, Hindi and language selected when you filled application form. In total, JEE Main is in 13 languages and you can select any language out of available options. You cannot switch language of question paper during exam.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the JEE Main 2024 final answer key on the official website at jeemain.nta.ac.in for both session 1 and 2. Check below for the steps to download the JEE Main Answer Key.

  • Visit the official website, jeemain.nta.ac.in.
  • Click on the JEE Main 2024 answer key link.
  • Now, candidates can log in by either entering the date of birth along with the application number or the application number with the password.
  • After logging in, the candidates can view and download the JEE Main 2024 answer key.

Q. When was the JEE Main 2024 Session 1 result announced?

A. The JEE Main 2024 Result for session 1 was announced on February 12, 2024 on the official website at jeemain.nta.ac.in. Candidates required login credentials including the application number and date of birth to check their JEE Main 2024 Paper 1 result. The score card consists of the details about the percentile score in all the three subjects and the agreegate percentile.

Q. What was the overall difficulty level of the JEE Main 2024 Paper 1 (Session 1)?

A. As per the feedback received from the students, the overall JEE Main 2024 Paper 1 was moderately difficult. Some of the students felt it was easy to moderate. Physics and Chemistry were manageable, and the questions in Chemistry were mostly NCERT based. Therefore, Physics and Chemistry were easy in difficulty. On the other hand, Mathematics was the lengthiest and difficult. Some of the questions were formula based but lengthy in nature.

Q. When will the JEE Main 2024 Session 2 be conducted?

A. The NTA will conduct the JEE Main 2024 Session 2 from April 4 to 15, 2024, at various centres across the country. Currently, registrations for Session 2 are going on. The last date to apply for JEE Main 2024 Session 2 is March 2, 2024. Candidates can apply by visiting the official website at jeemain.nta.ac.in. 

Q. In which cities was the JEE Main 2024 Session 1 exam conducted?

A. The JEE Main 2024 exam for Session 1 was conducted in around 300 cities in India and abroad. NTA conducted the JEE Main exam in 21 cities outside India namely Manama, Doha, Dubai, Kathmandu, Muscat, Riyadh, Sharjah, Singapore, Kuwait City, Kuala Lumpur, Lagos/Abuja, Colombo, Jakarta, Moscow, Ottawa, Port Louis, Bangkok, and Washington D.C. Candidates who study NCERT books have a better chance of clearing the JEE Mains and getting a good score. Also, candidates targeting the 99–100 percentile are recommended to refer to some of the additional books beside NCERT as well.

A. As we know, the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) is being held in two sessions in January and April. JEE Mains Papers 2A and 2B for BArch and BPlanning was conducted on January 24, 2024. The BE, BTech Paper 1 was conducted from January 27 to February 1, 2024.
