5. Category-based Scholarships for UG/PG programmes
- Differently Abled: This type of scholarship applies as per the RPwD Act, 2016 provisions to all the categories of disabilities identified. A student with a 40% permanent disability of the mentioned categories and a Unique Disability ID from the Government of India will be considered for the scholarship.
- Defense and Paramilitary Quota: Serving personnel, ex-servicemen, retired personnel, and deceased personnel or their dependents from Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, Coast Guard, Border Security Force (BSF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Railway Protection Force (RPF), National Security Guards (NSG), Military Engineers Service (MES) and Defense Security Corps (DSC) are eligible for scholarship.
- Sports International Level: A player who has represented India in any International Sports Competitions approved by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports/ SAI/ IOA/ FISU/ National Federation of Concerned Games is eligible for scholarships. The student must obtain a certificate from the concerned authorities of the sport.
- Sports National Level: A student who has represented the state in any competition conducted between the last two consecutive calendar years at the national level in Individual/ Teams approved by the Ministry of Sports/ Sports Federation/ AIU is eligible for scholarship. The student must obtain a certificate from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports/ National Federation/ Board of concerned games only.
- Domicile: The student should have studied in one or more Government / Government recognised educational institutions located in the State of Karnataka for a minimum period of 7 academic years and must have passed either SSLC / 10th standard or 2nd PUC / 12th standard examination from Karnataka State. In the case of the candidate who has taken more than one year to pass a class or standard, the year of academic study is counted as one year only.
