The SRM CGPA calculator is a software that helps students of SRM university to calculate their Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). It makes the whole CGPA computation easy and helps students track their academic performance.
How to Use the SRM CGPA Calculator?
To use the SRM CGPA calculator, the user must perform the following steps:
- Input the Grade Point Average (GPA) for each semester. The maximum GPA input should not exceed 10.
- Input the total credits for each semester but should not exceed 50.
- Add another semester by clicking the "Add a Semester" button. This adds another row.
- After entering all the necessary information, click the "Calculate CGPA" button to get the CGPA and its equivalent percentage.
What Is the SRM CGPA Calculation Formula?
The SRM CGPA calculation formula is as follows:
CGPA = [Σ (Semester GPA x Semester Credits)] ÷ Total Credits
Where:
- CGPA is the Cumulative Grade Point Average for all semesters.
- Σ represents the sum of all semesters.
- Grade Points are the products of credits and grade points earned in various subjects.

Steps to Calculate the SRM University CGPA
Step 1: Collect semester wise details such as grades and credits
This step entails the gathering of GPA and corresponding credits in all semesters. GPA indicates academic performance whereas the credits represent the weight of the semester.
Step 2: Multiply GPA with Credits
In this step, it is important to calculate the weighted value for each semester GPA. We do this by multiplying the GPA with the number of credits of each semester.
Step 3: Summing up of all the weighted values
We sum up all the weighted values obtained from Step 2. This gives us the cumulative weighted value.
Step 4: Finding Total Number of Credits
We get the total number of credits by adding the credit value for each semester.
Step 5: Divide total grade points by total credits
The last step to calculate the CGPA involves the division of total weighted grades obtained in Step 3 by the total credits obtained in Step 4. This will give you the final CGPA.
