Ashoka University offers an MA (Master of Arts) in three specialisations including English, Economics, and Liberal Studies. Admission to the courses is based on a written assessment or entrance examination. Candidates who pass the test are called for the interview round. The aspirants of the MA programme can apply through the Ashoka University online application portal.
The university is committed to making education accessible to every student that wishes to study. Financial aid is offered to students with poor financial conditions of the family. The university has committed INR 320 Cr as financial aid. As per officials, 49% of the students on campus are on aid.
All three MA programmes are of a duration of two years divided into four semesters. Candidates are also allowed to choose elective courses that cater to their interests. Ashoka University offers admission to aspirants based on their scores in Ashoka Aptitude Assessment. Aspirants also need to pass the on-the-spot-essay round for UG courses. Selected aspirants are further called for a PI round.
Ashoka University MA fee is INR 11.3 lakh. The fee mentioned here is not applicable to MA (Liberal Studies). A refundable security deposit of INR 20,000 and meal cost security deposit of INR 25,000 (if opted-in for Residence) at the time of acceptance of the offer of admission will also be charged. According to media reports, the highest and average package offered during Ashoka University placement 2024 stood at INR 35 LPA and INR 10.7 LPA, respectively. Further, Consulting sector emerged as the top recruiting sector that placed 18% of the total students followed by EdTech (16%) and BFSI (15%) sectors. The Development sector offered the highest package of INR 20 LPA during placement drive 2024.
Earlier, the 2023 placements session concluded with 100% of the students placed. A total of 146 recruiters participated and selected 351 students. Further, the highest package and average package offered during Ashoka University placements in 2023 were INR 35 LPA and INR 10.50 LPA, respectively. Consulting emerged as the top industry with the highest percentage of students placed. Genpact, Deloitte, Hindustan Unilever Limited, EY, and many other renowned companies participated in the 2023 placements. Along with the above details, the internship data for 2022-23 has also been released. Out of 182 participating companies, 105 hired during the internship process. A total of 490 offers were distributed, including 10 PPOs. The highest stipend offered during Ashoka University internships 2022-23 was INR 1.50 lakh per month and the median stipend stood at INR 15,000 per month.
