The admission criteria for Master of Computer Applications (MCA) at Bangalore University is as follows:
- Regular Entry: Candidates must have a B.C.A / B.Sc / B.Com / B.A degree with Mathematics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or at graduation.
- Lateral Entry: Candidates with an undergraduate science or applied science degree of three years duration in Computer Applications or Computer Science or Information Technology or other computer-related areas, or a Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application after completing a 3-year degree programme, are directly admitted to the third semester of the six-semester M.C.A programme.
Note: Admissions for the MCA course will be through PGCET.

The institute accepts valid KCET scores for admission to its BTech courses. Thus, it is mandatory for students to register and appear for the aforementioned exam.
