Dr Sabitha Wins Prestigious ‘Nari Narayani’ Award By Public TV Kannada

March 28, 2022: On the occasion of International Women's Day, Public TV recognised Dr Sabitha Ramamurthy, Chancellor of CMR University (a leading Kannada news channel).

This award honours Dr Sabitha's outstanding contributions to the field of education during the past three decades. Public TV honoured her services by bestowing the coveted "Nari Narayani" award and naming her a "Public Hero."

It's worth noting at this point that Dr Sabitha's continuous commitment to making great education accessible to all has resulted in CMR University, one of Bangalore's best degree colleges, receiving Private University status in 2013.

Dr Sabitha founded the CMR National Junior School in a family guava orchid in 1991, before founding CMR University with her husband Shri K.C. Ramamurthy (M.P – Rajya Sabha).

The school grew by leaps and bounds, resulting in the foundation of the CMR Jnanadhara Trust, which today oversees all CMR University responsibilities as well as the CMR Group of Institutions (consisting of a number of schools, colleges, and higher education institutes including the popular CMR Institute of Technology).

The CMR Memorial Scholarship initiative, which provides financial aid to needy and deserving students from across India, is a major step done by CMR University (with Dr Sabitha's supervision) towards ensuring quality education for the masses. So far, more than INR 1 crores worth of scholarships have been disbursed.

Dr Sabitha believes that the journey has only just begun, with nearly 600 students (both national and international) pursuing higher education programmes at CMR University, one of the best private universities in Karnataka, and leading media publications listing the University among the best private universities in the country.
