Yes, students enrolled in the MS and MD courses offered by the GIMSR are required to submit a thesis. The topic of the thesis must revolve around their chosen specialisation. Moreover, this project work is to be successfully submitted at least six months before the theory and clinical/practical examination. A candidate shall only be allowed to appear for the theory and practical/clinical examination only after the acceptance of the thesis by the examiners. 

To seek admission in a GIMSR MD programme, a candidate must have completed an MBBS degree and one year of a mandatory internship period. Moreover, students must appear for the NEET PG exam.After the exam, they are required to participate in the NEET PG counselling.
