Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University - Pauri Campus was established as a state university. HNBGU has 3 campuses, namely Birla Campus with its extension at Chauras Campus Srinagar Garhwal, B. Gopal Reddy (BGR) Campus Pauri & Swami Ram Teerth (SRT) Campus Badshahithaul, Tehri. Out of these 3 campuses, the Birla Campus with its extension at Chauras Campus Srinagar Garhwal, is the main campus. 

The basic eligibility criteria for the MA programme available at HNBGU Pauri Campus is a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 40-45 % aggregate. The accepted entrance tests is CUET-PG. HNBGU Pauri Campus has a state of the art infra with various available modern facilities. There are 9 girls' hostels & 8 boys' hostels. HNBGU Pauri Campus is trying to build new hostels to meet the growing demand of students. Some of the facilities include hostel, central library, computer centre, guest house, and others.  

HNBGU Pauri Campus is yet to get ranked by any ranking body. The institute is trying to make the necessary changes to get approved by the top organisations. HNBGU Pauri Campus has postgraduate (PG) and UG (undergraduate) programmes to students. The HNBGU Pauri Campus courses are given across the Zoology, Law, and various other streams. Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University offers admission to candidates mainly based on CUET scores of the candidates. The university accepts CUET-UG for BTech, BA, BPharm, etc. and CUET-PG for most of the PG courses. Aspirants are allotted seat via CUET Counselling after the release of merit. Hence, direct admission is usually not offered at HNBGU.
