HPNLU – A rising centre of legal excellence in the hills.
Placements: Trust me, there are few placements in HPNLU as the placement cell is still trying and maturing, and also only a small number of companies visit campus. Mostly, students obtain internships/placements outside the campus process. If you are joining HPNLU, expect decent placement opportunities.
Infrastructure: HPNLU is one of the newer NLUs, established in 2016, and the facilities here are good, consisting of a sports complex, moot court halls, and hostel expansion. The library is great and also provides digital resources such as Manupatra, SSC online, etc. The classrooms consist of smart classes and have high-speed connectivity in both university and hostel. Hostel rooms are well-equipped, and there is also a canteen and café in the campus area. The campus also provides medical services and ambulance service, along with open badminton and basketball courts, a sports room for indoor games. However, the mess food here is bad.
Faculty: The faculty here are very helpful and have an open-door policy. They are approachable for doubts and mentoring. Most faculty encourage discussions in class. The Dean (Academics) and faculty coordinators regularly meet students to address academic issues. Exams are considered moderate to difficult, designed to test analytical and case law applications rather than rote learning.
Other: I chose this course because I have interest in social science subjects and also come from a humanities background. The faculty here is very great, which makes this course more interesting. There are not many events held every year, but a sports fest called DRONA is held, along with freshers, foundation days, and pre-Holi parties, depending on the Student Enrichment Cell.

Absolutely satisfying curriculum and facilities according to the terrain and age of the university.
Placements: 50% of students got placements. The lowest package is around 5 LPA, and the highest package is around 18 LPA, including PPO. Luthra and Luthra company hire students from the college. Almost everyone got internships in government ministries and law firms like Trilegal and Luthra and Luthra. Top roles offered are litigation, judiciary, corporate, etc., and we can choose them according to our interests.
Infrastructure: Himachal Pradesh National Law University provides a good environment for students. There are all the necessary resources and facilities for students. It has facilities like Wi-Fi in the university as well as in hostel premises. There is also a facility of a common room, a mess area, and a sports room. All classes are smart classes.
Faculty: All teachers in the college are qualified and knowledgeable. Most of them are PhD holders in their subjects. The environment of the college is so supportive. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are difficult, and they show the level of the college. The pass percentage is 45%.
Other: I chose this course because it fits with our future work, and I want to pursue a career in the judiciary. Everything is good, and I don't think there is any space for improvement.

A university on the seventh heaven.
Placements: The offer percentage given to the individuals is good but most students apply individually for jobs as those are more lucrative. In terms of the highest package it was 18 Lacs and the minimum was 5 lacs, maybe, further internships it is done on a basis, while the college will notify from time to time about the internship, if the student has a better alternative, then he/she can take it.
Infrastructure: In terms of infrastructure, I can say it is not good for boys as hostels are private rental buildings for boys, but for girls, hostels are made inside the campus. Further, the food is selected by a student committee made of all the years of students as well as a faculty member. Medical facilities are not available inside the campus but there is an ambulance from which the student can go to the nearest hospital and have a free checkup.
Faculty: Now, in terms of teachers, I can say that they know more than enough about their subjects and the knowledge given is best, further about the semester exams there are 6 subjects in the first year and then 5 in the 2nd year. There is a mid-semester exam of 25 marks, then 25 marks for assignments, and then 50 marks for the semester exam The difficulty is medium, anyone can pass them spectacularly if they have prepared for it.

Satisfied, pretty place with peaceful sceneries, good placements and decent infrastructure.
Placements: Placements are good. The main thing is one bakes their own cake. The university was established in 2016, a less number of batches have passed but the placements are good. If one is dedicated enough, he/she can easily achieve good placement. Now the university is growing and soon the quality of placement will improve. The average package is of 16 LPA.
Infrastructure: Girls' hostels are amazing, with all the facilities. Boys' hostels are average because electric items are not allowed, but are pretty spacious. The girls' hostels are located on campus, and the boys' hostels are located outside. A fine is imposed in the boys' hostel for keeping electronic items. A fine can range from Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 15, 000.
Faculty: Faculty members are good, but some are not up to the mark. Overall, it is great. The teaching quality is good, and the curriculum is relevant. Exams are moderate to difficult, but one can easily ace with proper study and schedule. Teachers are helpful and qualified.
Other: Zero campus life and the crowd is average. I wish the campus life could be better. The only big event is DRONA, the sports fest.

LIFE AT NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY SHIMLA
Placements: In the past few years, the placement in the college has actually not been so good. Most of the students coming to the college are inclined towards the judiciary. Although a few students have grabbed good offers from good law firms, being a tier 3 college, placements are not excellent. However, with time, the college is trying its best to bring in good law firms, so it might improve in the future.
Infrastructure: Our college is actually situated in the hills, so you can't expect very lavish infrastructure, but there is almost everything that one needs. The sports infrastructure is not so good. Talking about the hostels, the college has just one hostel of its own for the first-year girls, whereas the other one is under construction. All the other hostels are in rented buildings near the campus.
Faculty: The faculty is pretty good. The college is very serious about academics and has good professors with good skills. The curriculum is very relevant and well-designed, somewhat similar to Delhi University. The semester exams are not very tough; the college is actually trying to test our critical thinking skills.
Other: I chose this course because I wish to be a political analyst, and getting a law degree from a national university would help me a lot in this. Our life is very happening here. The campus is extremely beautiful and serene. The campus has a variety of crowds, and you'll enjoy your life here.

Amazing experience of learning law in the Himalayas.
Placements: Placements are average in this University. It is a newly established university among the Family of National Law Universities. The Assistance Cell is working hard to place the students at good law firms and provide internship opportunities at good law firms for students. Most students opt for higher studies, stressing less about getting placements as of now. The highest package offered recently was 18 LPA. Many students receive Pre-Placement offers from Law Firms like Singh and Associates, Lakshikumaran and Sridharan, Indus Law, etc. One thing that should be kept in mind is that this is still a tier 3 NLU; hence, getting placed is based on your caliber and potential, one should not rely entirely on the University for the same.
Infrastructure: The University infrastructure is well suited to the hilly terrain of the Himalayas. There are two blocks in the University for Academic and Administrative purpose. There is only one hostel for girls at the university, and the other one is under construction. Boys hostels are rented and located outside the periphery of the University. Boys' hostels are, however, average as compared to the girls' hostel. Basic amenities like Fan, Light, Geyser and wardrobe are provided to the residents. There are separate mess in the hostels and one at the university. There are two cafeterias in the hostel. Since the college is situated on hilly terrain, it is not well suited for many games. However, many games are being played in the university, such as Futsal, Badminton, Cricket, Basketball, and indoor games such as chess, carrom, table tennis, etc. The university also hosts an annual sport festival. The campus, along with hostels situated outside, are Wi-Fi enabled, with classrooms being well furnished and equipped with both audio and visual equipment.
Faculty: The faculty is well experienced, as many of them are from well-reputed colleges in the country. Most of the teachers hold Ph.D.s and are UGC NET qualified; their stress is more on imparting value and practical knowledge to the students along with good theoretical application. Exams are conducted every three months to test the students; the curriculum is well-suited to the needs of the students, with equal emphasis on learning law and social sciences. It makes the student industry ready. Attendance is something that should be taken care of at this university, as there are strict provisions regarding this, with the mandatory attendance being 70%. Semester exams are moderately difficult, and one can pass them if you are sincere at studies.
Other: I chose this course as I was passionate about pursuing a career in law, advocating for people's rights. There are a lot of events in this university that are on par with the expectations of the student's connectivity. The university is well connected by the roads, as it is located at the Shimla Mandi Highway. One can reach it directly by bus or private vehicle. There are many eateries and restaurants in the area nearby, along with beautiful foothills of the Himalayas. The nearest market is Dhami, which is located at a very short distance.
