Generally, the placements at the National Law Universities begin from April-May every year. The recruiters visit campuses of the law universities and shortlist candidates based on their academic profile and legal aptitude. The entrance exam accepted for admission to the BA LLB and LLM courses at the NLU Delhi is AILET. No other entrance exam is accepted for the admission to the institute. Candidates appearing in any other Law entrance exam such as CLAT, MHCET Law, SLAT, will have to appear for the AILET to increase their scope of admission to NLU Delhi.

The placements are organised course-wise i.e. for undergraduate as well as postgraduate students. Around 75% of students from the total strength of the batch participate in the campus recruitment process at NLUs. The job roles in law offered by the recruiters are:
