HPU BA Eligibility & Highlights 2025
BA at Himachal Pradesh University is offered as a three-year programme at the UG level through the Department of Evening Studies. The BA programme is spread across six semesters. Besides, the university also offers three-year BA and BA (Hons) courses through various affiliated colleges. Apart from the regular BA course, HPU also offers the BA in distance education mode through the International Centre for Distance Education and Open Learning.
HPU BA admission is entirely merit-based. Candidates seeking admission to the BA programme offered at HPU are required to meet the minimum eligibility criteria of a passing grade in Class 12 examination conducted by HP Board (or in the case of Shastri, pass in Prak Shastri from Sanskrit Colleges affiliated to HPU) or an examination accepted as equivalent there to by the various bodies of the HP University to apply for BA in distance education mode.

No, candidates do not require passing an entrance exam for admission to BTech (lateral entry) at Himachal Pradesh University. Admission to BTech (LE) courses is based on merit of the aspirants in the last qualifying exam. Candidates need to complete a three-year Diploma preferably in the same branch
