I am currently working as an Application Development Analyst in Accenture, Noida. To begin with, LPU provides a lot of options in engineering only. It is one of the most highlighted courses. The main concern of every student and their parents is the job and LPU fulfills that requirement. According to the placement data of 2019-20 LPU has given jobs to 90% of their students appearing in the interview. Even in 2020-21 placement record was up to 72% considering the lockdown situation and rising cases of corona patients, LPU has delivered its promise. Though both the colleges are good in academics but LPU is the best engineering college in Punjab for CSE. Lately, number of admissions in CSE department have been increased rapidly and has become one of the popular courses among engineering aspirants. In order to get admission in CSE there is an eligibility criteria that needs to be fulfilled by the student. For B.Tech (CSE) the eligibility includes 60% in 10+2 with (English, Physics & Mathematics ) + LPUNEST. For B.Tech CSE (Hons) 70% in 10+2 with (English, Physics & Mathematics )+ LPUNEST. JEE (Mains) exam score may be considered for scholarship but you need to qualify the eligibility criteria first. Scholarships are awarded to candidates based on their performance on any of the following categories:
1.1. Scholarship: Eligibility Qualification/ Qualification previous to Eligibility Qualification: The scholarship will also be offered on the basis of Eligibility qualification. In my opinion you should go for bio technology as it is a good course and after placement you will get a decent package while in btect nowadays students from any university are getting paid only 10000 per month or even lower than that so don't think for better course think for better future. For engineering students, there will be primarily two types of interviews conducted by most companies Technical and HR interviews. Technical Interview: In a technical interview, you will be asked technical questions related to your branch. You should have a good grip over core subjects to ace the round. I have appeared in interviews for IT companies only, so the recommended questions below will be relevant to students from the IT branch in particular. While preparing for the placement drive, you need to focus on questions such as
What Is Object-Oriented Programming? What is Operator overloading? What are the methods overloading and methods overriding? What is DBMS? What are joins in SQL? What are a linked list and its implementation? These are just some of the frequently asked questions that you can face during your technical round. Now, let's move forward to the next round, which is the HR round. HR Interview: In an HR interview, your mentality and communication skills are tested. I will advise you to be honest and stay confident in the HR interview. They will judge you based on your communication skills as well as appearance. In this round, you should know how to smartly deal with HR because if you don't, HR will take advantage of your weaknesses. Secondly, you should always be informed about the company, what they deal in and when it was founded. These are a few basic points to leave a positive impact on HR. There will be variations from case to case but you should stay confident and smart. I joined the institute named Aptitude Baba in the month of January. Here, I prepared for the aptitude and reasoning test. They used to give us daily assignments. For the technical round, I prepared by myself. I used to do competitive programming on Hacker Rank and solve problems on Geeks for Geeks. I also did separate preparation for group discussions and HR interviews. If you are serious about placements then join any institute for Aptitude and Reasoning as soon as possible. Take out some time regularly for technical subjects and give test series for various subjects. The more you practice, the more will be your chances of cracking technical and interview rounds. Polish your communication skills as well from the perspective of group discussion and personal interview rounds.
