B.Tech. in Food Technology - Batch of 2026
5.0
Good infrastructure, supportive faculty with decent placements, and an industry-relevant curriculum.
Placements: In Food Technology, 90% of students are placed and get jobs in this field, and there are so many companies like Britannia, ITC, Nagar Foods. The internship for the students is also available for a semester project as a capstone project. The top roles offered in our course are quality checks.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good in our college, and the hostels are very good, and they are cleaned daily in the bathrooms and toilets. They provide Wi-Fi and games, and they provide the Food fest for the students in the hostels, and during festival time, they will keep the students entertained.
Faculty: The teachers are qualified and knowledgeable, teaching quality is also good in this course, and the pass percentage is 80-90%. The industry is ready to take the students for internships and job offers, and they will also provide for the students in Food Technology Courses.
Other: Additional Information: I completed B.Teach Food Technology from Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education and belong to the 2026 passing out batch. I chose this course because the food industry has good career opportunities in food safety, quality control, production, and research. The best things about this course are practical laboratory experience, industry-related subjects, internships, and opportunities in both private and government sectors. I wish the course had more industrial visits, advanced equipment training, and more core company placements for Food Technology students.

Honestly satisfied with placements.
Placements: Nearly 50% of students got placed. Packages ranged from 20 LPA to 3.5 LPA, with an average package of 6 LPA. TCS was a major recruiter of students from our college. Not many students, but some of them got internship offers in HP and in some startups. Data scientists and AI engineers were the top roles offered in our course.
Infrastructure: All types of facilities like labs, Wi-Fi, library, and classrooms were well maintained, and all were accessible all over the campus. As part of hostels, it was a nice, friendly gesture. But some wardens were too aggressive, but no problem, students can manage. Regarding the mess, it was both South and North Indian with unlimited food. There was also a medical college and hospital on the campus. We had a big playground where the district selection of sports is also done.
Faculty: From the staff's point of view, they were very excellent and had a good quality of teaching. The course curriculum was relevant and understandable to students. Students can also gain industrial knowledge. The pass rate was decent, around 80%, as exams were too tough and strictly observed.
Other: I chose that college particularly for the fee structure. When I was studying, it was very reasonable and had great teaching quality. In college, they also planned events every Saturday to cheer up students. We had clubs to take care of that part, and they were managed by students.

The college is good for the fees.
Placements: The placements of the college are decent. For CSE, recruiting companies like TCS, Cognizant, etc., come and for mechanical, Caterpillar comes. The placement percentage of 2024 was approximately 85 percent. Overall the placements are good and the mechanical placements percentage is 79 percent.
Infrastructure: The hostel rooms are good but 4 members for each room. So the room is somewhat congested. The food is not good. The classrooms are nice and for mechanical engineering there are so many labs. The library is huge with many books. Overall the infrastructure of the college is good.
Faculty: Faculty are qualified, supportive, and explain concepts clearly. The curriculum is updated with practical learning making students industry-ready. Exams are moderately difficult with internal assessment. The score is manageable. The pass percentage is around 70 percent. Many of the faculty members for mechanical are Ph.D. holders.

Overall, the college is good according to the faculty and students.
Placements: The university offers good placements for CSE and average placements for core. For CSE, the placements are more, and for mechanical, the placement percentage is 75%. Overall, for all courses in engineering, the placement percent is 80-85%. Mechanical companies like Caterpillar will hire.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are good for freshman engineering, but from the second year, the classrooms are average. The Wi-Fi is good in hostels, but on campus, Wi-Fi will not be available. The hostels are good, but the food is not nice. The library of the university is good, and many books are available.
Faculty: The faculty are qualified, supportive, and explain concepts clearly. The faculty of mechanical is good and experienced, and many of them are Ph.D. holders. The semester exams are moderate, and the pass percentage is around 80-90%. Many teachers are qualified and well-educated.

Average college with weak faculty, outdated curriculum, and limited placements.
Placements: Approximately 40% of the students found employment. The highest salary is INR 11.8 LPA, the lowest is INR 2 LPA, average salary is about INR 4-5 LPA. The main company recruiting students is Accenture, hiring approximately 289 students, of which 208 are offered salaries of INR 11,800,000 as Advanced Associate Software Engineers. Fewer than 10 students from this programme are able to obtain jobs through their internship programs.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi speed is acceptable throughout most of the day, but after 7 o'clock, it becomes considerably lower. The labs are not well-maintained, and much of the equipment is out of service. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th-year classrooms are average. The library is acceptable. The quality of food in the hostel is very poor, considering the amount of money paid to eat there, and students are required to eat there at least three nights per week. The quality of food in the canteen is above average. The medical facilities are good. No sports and games are available.
Faculty: The teaching staff consist of some qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable individuals, but there are also many who aren't in the majority. The quality of teaching at the college is very low, and the same faculty members are responsible for teaching multiple subjects without an effective means of delivering all classes. The curriculum is outdated and does not reflect current industry standards, so it is of limited use for teaching students real-world skills. The semester exams are medium. The pass rate for the exams is approximately 85-90%, which suggests that the exams are not very difficult.
Other: I am interested in CSE, and the few classes taken, like Software Engineering and Computer Network, are very good. However, the overall course content could be improved. The university held many events generally related to academics, however, students had to pay for nearly every event. Telugu is the primary language of most of the students in attendance. Another negative is that the university is located roughly 10 km away from the closest train station, with only 2 trains stopping at the university. All students are required to travel approximately 85 km via Bus from Madurai. The campus is full of greenery. The university offers good scholarships.

Absolutely excited, really good college.
Placements: 60 to 70 percent of students are placed in our course. The highest package is 12 LPA, the lowest package is 4 LPA, and the average package is 6 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Teach Mahindra, Infosys, Wipro, and Genpact. Around 70 to 80 percent of students get internships in our course in different companies.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available for our course are super and comfortable. Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and library are more than good. The quality of the facilities in our hostel is also good. The quality of food available in the mess and canteen is super good. Medical facilities, sports, and games are also super good.
Faculty: The teachers are super helpful, well-qualified, experienced, and knowledgeable. The quality of teaching is also nice. This course curriculum is relevant. It makes the students industry ready. The semester exams are not that difficult. The pass percentage is 80 percent.
Other: I choose this course for a better future and personal development. The best thing about our course is a bright future. I want to improve more facilities in our course for better improvement. Events, fests, campus crowd, connectivity, campus surroundings, scholarships, and extracurricular activities are super good.
