Kerala Veterinary & Animal Sciences institution is a government-funded institution founded in December 2010 by the Kerala government. The university provides veterinary and animal sciences teaching, research, and extension services. The university is a public institution, not a private one. It came into existence on 14th June, 2010 as per Ordinance No. 44/2010 and later Act 3/2011 of the Government of Kerala.

In Kerala Veterinary and Animal Science University, admission in B.Tech is done through the ranks or scores of  KEAM or ICAR AIEEA. KVASU cutoff 2024 is yet to be released for BTech course admission based on KEAM score. For the academic session 2024, the KEAM 2024 exam will be scheduled between Jun 5, 2024 and Jun 9, 2024. During the Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University cutoff 2023, the last round closing rank stood at 363753 for B.Tech.

Kerala Veterinary & Animal Sciences University accepts ICAR AIEEA for admission to MVSC. The cutoff to MVSC is subject to change annually. However, the eligibility for the M.V. Sc. Programme is Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry recognised by the University with an CGPA of 6.0/10 or equivalent OGPA/equivalent percentage of 50% marks in traditional system. Itis advisable to check the cutoff marks for MVSC at its official website.

The university also offers several diplomas, PG diplomas, and PG certificate courses in Veterinary and Animal Sciences. Apart from the regular degree programmes and short courses, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University offers several courses in distance learning.

The ICAR score is required for admission to Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University's M.V.Sc. program. 25% of the seats in each department are reserved for ICAR applicants who pass the admission exam.
