Khallikote Unitary University (also known as Khallikote University or KUU) is a government university, established in 2015, in Berhampur or Brahmapur, Ganjam. History of Khallikote Unitary University:
- Started as a Zilla School in 1856, KUU received its status of an Intermediate College as a 'Union College' in 1878.
- In 1887, Khallikote Unitary University was recognised as a Native College with a student strength of 127 and 12 staff members.
- On August 16, 1893, the University was named as Khallikote College.
- Khallikote Junior College came up in 1896 and in 1904, Victoria Memorial Hostel for Girls (Jhansi Rani Hostel) came into existence.
