NIMS has a central library which has been purchasing/subscribing foreign and Indian books/journals as per the requirements. The library regularly issues classified acquisition lists, provides reference services and assists to the faculty, residents, scholars, students of NIMS like B.P.T, M.P.T, B.Sc, / M.Sc nursing and other paramedical courses.It also serves to the regular trainees/observers from other medical colleges and institutes.The library also provides free internet facility and subsidized photocopying services to the faculty, residents and students of the Institute. The entire library is air-conditioned. NIMS library has total 8,963 books, 2015217 journals,out of which 200 are foreign, 17 are Indian,10,217 are back volumes,1,600 are theses / dissertations, 912 CDROMs / DVDs, 252 reprints ,and 2017241+ are ERMED Consortium e-Journals.

For most of the courses available at Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences, there is no scope for direct admissions. Admissions to courses such as BSc, PG Diploma, etc., entrance tests are based on TS EAMCET, NEET PG, etc. entrance test scores.
