Yes, you can join Netaji Subhas Open University (NSOU) based on merit. All students must meet the required percentage as per ttheir last educational qualification previous exams to be considered for admission.

For example, to be eligible for the BEd in Special Education course, candidates must be:

• Have a Master's Degree in Sciences, Social Sciences, or Humanities
• The candidate should have bachelor's programme with 50% aggregate.

Also eligible for the MBA course, students must be:

Established in 1997, the Netaji Subhas Open University is a UGC-approved University. The university offers courses in distance mode. It has been accredited by NAAC with an A grade and has also been recognised by DEC and the Gov. of West Bengal. It is also an active member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), the Association of Asian Open University (AAOU), and the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU).

Students who are looking for admission at NSOU need to meet the last educational qualification.  Admission is through Management Entrance Test (NSOU-MET) followed by Personal Interview (PI) of 100marks. The NSOU-ET may be of 100 marks (English-30, Mathematics-30, Aptitude-20 and GK20) based on MCQ. The students may be selected on the basis of the results of NSOU-MET & PI.

For admission to the MBA course at Netaji Subhas Open University, candidates must have passed their Class 12 or equivalent examination and hold a three-year bachelor's degree or a degree in Law, Engineering, Pharmacy, or Architecture. Candidates must have a valid aggregate in the last examination and the performance in the NSOU-MET, followed by the PI round. Candidates meeting course-specific academic requirements are eligible to apply for the MBA courses.

The placement report for the academic year 2023-2024 is yet to be release on the official website. Netaji Subhas Open University is an open university and does not offer programmes in regular mode to the students. Therefore, the university campus does not have any infrastructural facilities for the students. The university offers study material to the students that help them to study and prepare for the programme. The university offers a library facility to students at the regional study centre of Kalyani. The university has also started to collaborate with local public libraries to extend help to the students.
