NSOU Kolkata provides multiple courses in Open & Distance Learning Mode. These courses allows people to access education widely and remotely. ODL courses can be pursued in either online or offline mode. Candidates can choose an institute that provides their desired course in their preferred mode. There is no provision of scholarship and No financial aid was received. There is no annual fest or programme or anything like that. Very Helpfull University.

Netaji Subhas Open University (NSOU) accepts the following entrance exam scores for admission to MBA:

According to the NSOU BA course admission criteria, candidates are shortlisted based on the marks obtained in the last qualifying examination. No entrance test is mandatory for candidates to appear for and qualify to secure admission to the BA courses. Shortlisted candidates must provide the necessary documents to complete the verification process. Those who meet the course-specific eligibility criteria can get direct admission.

As per the students’ reviews on Shiksha page, various recruiters participated during NSOU placements 2023 and placed students in new-age job roles. The list of recruiters included Amul, Tata, ACC, Bajaj, TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Concentrix, etc.

Netaji Subhas Open University is accredited with A Grade by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council). NSOU is approved by AICTE, Distance Education Bureau,  and UGC  (University Grants Commission). Netaji Open University is a member of AIU,  AAOU,  and ACU. This Open University in Kolkata was established in 1997. NSOU alumni have found jobs in top companies at top positions such as Amul, Tata, ACC, Bajaj, TCS, Wipro,  and others. This is the reason to choose NSOU. 

NSOU provides several MA specialisations, including Bengali, English, English Language Teaching, History, Political Science, Public Administration, and Education. Eligibility for these programmes varies; for example, candidates must have a BA or equivalent in the relevant stream from a recognised university to pursue an MA in Bengali. Similarly, candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Education to pursue an MA in Education.Ed/B.Ed (Special Education) from a recognised university.

Students who are looking for admission at NSOU need to meet the last educational qualification.  Admission is through Management Entrance Test (NSOU-MET) followed by Personal Interview (PI) of 100marks. The NSOU-ET may be of 100 marks (English-30, Mathematics-30, Aptitude-20 and GK20) based on MCQ. The students may be selected on the basis of the results of NSOU-MET & PI.

There is no limit on the number of students who can do a BSc at Netaji Subhas Open University (NSOU). NSOU is an open university, which means that it is open to all students who meet the minimum eligibility criteria.

The minimum eligibility criteria for admission to the BSc programme at NSOU is a pass in 10+2 examination from a recognised university with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates).

The admissions to the B.Sc programme at NSOU are done on a first-come-first-served basis. This means that the students who apply first are given priority in admission.

The minimum duration of the Programmee is two years from the date of registration for MA at Netaji Subhas Open University. The registration is valid for a period of maximum  five years provided the candidate pays renewal fees and other relevant fees within due time as and when notified by the University. University conducts PG admission for January Session. Courses are offered in annual system.

Netaji Subhas Open University offers an MA in History through the School of Social Sciences. The course is spread over a minimum duration of two years and can be completed up to five years. The eligibility criteria are different for students from the CBCS and non-CBCS categories.

For Non CBCS: Candidates, who have a graduation degree (10+2+3) and have scored at least 300 marks in History, are eligible to apply for the programme.

For CBCS: Candidates, who have a graduation degree (10+2+3) with Core Course (CC/Discipline Specific Elective (DSE)/ Equivalent in History, are eligible to pursue the programme.

NSOU Kolkata offers study materials to the students after they enroll themselves in the programmes offered at the university. Students can collect their SLM, i.e. self-learning material from their allocated learner support centre. To collect the SLMs students have to show their receipt provided by the university. Students can also study from a softcopy of the same available on the official website. The study material is available in two mediums, i.e. English and Bengali.
