Before applying, candidates must ensure that they are eligible for admission. To be eligible for PRIST BTech admission,   applicants must have passed Class 12 with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational Subjects. They must have obtained a minimum aggregate of 45% (40% in the case of reserved category candidates) in the abovementioned subjects.

PRIST University offers BTech in multiple specialisations. The university also provides lateral entry directly to the second year of these courses. BE/B.Tech admission in Tamil Nadu is done based on the online counselling process called TNEA. There is no state-level entrance exam for admission in Tamil Nadu. Candidates have to register and appear for the online Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions TNEA counselling held every year. 10+2 passed/appearing candidates can apply for TNEA counselling. Admission will be based on marks obtained by the candidates in the relevant subjects, namely, Maths Physics and Chemistry which will be reduced to 200. TNEA 2026 counselling process includes registration, assignment of random numbers, Certificate verifications, rank list publication, and finally the counselling. The counselling rounds will include steps like Choice Filling, Allotment, Confirmation of Allotment, and Reporting to the College/TFC and payment of fees depending upon their confirmation.

The Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu will start the B.Tech application process for TNEA 2024 in May, tentatively. The last date to apply can be expected in the first week of June and the last date to complete document upload must be few days after that.TNEA 2024 counselling process includes registration, assignment of random numbers, Certificate verifications, rank list publication, and finally the counselling.

Based on the availability of seats, rank, and community, candidates will be allotted. Using this, candidates can create a list of branches and colleges. This choice list or preference list should finally be in the order of candidate preference.
