Karunya University admissions are completely based on merit and entrance exam scores. For UG courses, candidates a must pass Class 12 and PG courses, candidates must complete graduation. The selection of admission is confirmed on entrance exam scores/merit-based, verification of the original mark sheet, community certificate and other relevant documents. 

The university shortlist candidates for M.Tech course based on merit in the last qualifying exam. Candidates need to fulfil the eligibility requirements to apply for M.Tech course. Aspirants must pass bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Technology in the concerned discipline with at least 60% aggregate to apply for the M.Tech course. Candidates who have passed MSc Life Science can be considered for M.Tech Biotechnology/ Food Processing & Engineering. After completion of the selection rounds, shortlisted candidates are called for counselling and document verification. Candidates need to pay the course fee to confirm their admission.

Admission to some courses is entrance-based and some is merit-based. The university conducts KEE for shortlisting aspirants for BSc (Hons) Agriculture and BTech courses. MBA candidates are shortlisted based on the KMAT exam. The total fee of BSc ranges between 3.02 L and 3.95 L. The fee, excludes exam fee, professional development and placement training fees. Candidates are required to pay the course fee after completion of all the selection rounds to confirm their seats. In case, a candidate is unable to pay the fee within the specified time, his or her admission will stand cancelled. Candidates will also require to pay a registration fee to apply for admission.
