Be cautious of your attendance at SXUK otherwise a good college for your media career.
Placements: I am a B.A. mass communication student from semester 3. About 65-70% of students got placed. The highest package is 6 LPA, and the lowest salary is around 2.5 LPA. The average salary is nearly 4 LPA. Top recruiters included ABP News, The Times Group, Zee Media, and more PR firms. Around 70% of secured internships in companies like NDTV, Ogilvy, etc.
Infrastructure: The mass communication department has well-equipped classrooms with smartboards, high-speed Wi-Fi, and an audio-visual MAC lab for media production and graphic design. There is also a studio, editing suite, and camera equipment. Hostel facilities come with clean rooms, 24X7 water, Wi-Fi, and electricity. The food in the mess is average but hygienic. They also provide special meals during special events. Facilities such as games, room, gym, and sports courts are also available. One drawback is that all rooms are non-AC rooms and in the Kolkata heat, they do not permit any kind of external installations like coolers.
Faculty: Faculty members at SXUK are highly qualified, approachable, and have many industry backgrounds. Teaching quality is good with practical and theory-based learning. The curriculum is NEP 2020 aligned and covers journalism, advertising, PR, and communication skills that make students industry-ready. Hence, the passing percentage is approximately 85-90%.
Other: Attendance is a crucial thing followed on the campus where a candidate is required to maintain 75% attendance rate at all times and often medical exceptions. Also, not considered to lead to the department of students unfairly making them re-register in the next academic year with the same fees and formalities.

St. Xavier's University - A hub of knowledge.
Placements: The college has a pretty good placement rate, with big companies coming to the campus to hire its students. The college has a good reputation because of Xavier's name, thus companies and organizations always want to come here and hire the best available students for their firm.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure available is really up to the mark, with a full-fledged studio and several media equipment available for mass communication. The college has a lot of essential equipment. However, the hostel facility available is quite expensive, being around Rs. 80,000 per semester, which is quite expensive for everyone to afford the hostel facility.
Faculty: The faculty and curriculum available for my course are quite well. It's constantly evolving by implementing the latest trends in the field of media. They constantly try to give students a much more experiential knowledge rather than a theory-based one. The faculty is highly qualified, with everyone willing to communicate with the students and trying to find solutions to their problems.
Other: The main reason I chose this course is my interest in the field of media. Thus, I always wanted to pursue mass communication, and finding a college like St. Xavier's has always been on my bucket list.

Our college provides good infrastructure.
Placements: Around 20% of students got placed in our college. It is very difficult to get placements. Placement chances are very low. If you did not have good grades or get an arrear, you won't get any placements in this college. Interships are easy to get. Top recruiting companies are Deloitte, Wipro, ITC, TCS, and Infosys.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. The campus is very huge. Our classrooms have air conditioners. The hostel is not good. It is expensive. It is better to live in PGs nearby. The hostel fee is around Rs. 80,000 every semester. The food served in the hostel is not very good. Our college provides facilities for indoor games and sports like cricket, football, badminton, carrom, chess, etc.
Faculty: Faculty members of commerce and management departments are very kind, good, and helpful. Other departments like arts and social are not veyr friendly. Exams are very difficult. The passing marks are around 40 out of 100. The course does not make you ready for the industry. You need to do something else. It is very textual doesnt make you ready for field work or jobs.
Other: Our college provides a better improvement to make the course more practical.

Overall, nice college experience.
Placements: Almost 70% of students got placed from my course. The lowest package is 3 LPA and the highest is 12 LPA for my undergraduate course. Top recruiting companies are EY, TCS, PWC, Zomato, and Deloitte. Almost all students got internships in my course as it is compulsory in companies like Wipro, Pantaloons, and Google.
Infrastructure: Air-conditioned lab, sports room, basketball court, volleyball court, smart classrooms, good food in canteen, and infirmary all these facilities are available in our college. Facilities in our hostel are good and the food is also very good here. Everything is available for hostel students.
Faculty: Teachers are well-trained and qualified and they are helpful with students. Course curriculum is very relevant and it makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are quite difficult and pass percentage is 40%, so you need to be good in your studies.
Other: I wanted to pursue a career in finance so I chose B.Com (Hons). Events and fest are good here. Scholarships are also provided here. Extracurricular activities are also conducted. Campus crowd is also good. The campus is green and the surroundings are also good.

Absolutely satisfied with the campus infrastructure and faculty.
Placements: Around 50% of people get placed in my course, with packages ranging from 3 LPA to 12 LPA. Top recruiters are Deloitte, KPMG, and many more. Roles offered range from Deloitte to KPMG and other top firms. Placements depend on CGPA and attendance.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is huge, with ongoing expansions. The library is also large, with two floors dedicated to it. The campus is fully air-conditioned, medical facilities are average, and Wi-Fi is available throughout campus. It has good sports grounds, facilities, a game room, and a gym. The canteen is also very good, with a combination of foods,, and the hostel facilities are up to the mark.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, and all faculty members are highly qualified. They have a great understanding of the subjects. They teach and are very supportive while solving doubts. The pass percentage is around 80%, with slightly difficult semester exams.
Other: Fests are average. The reason I chose this course is to gain knowledge in the commerce field.

Review of St. Xavier's College of Kolkata.
Placements: Approximately 65 percent of students were placed in our college, with the highest package of 8.6 LPA per annum and the lowest salary package of 3 LPA per annum. Expected companies like Wipro and TCS are visiting our college. Top roles offered are data analyst, teacher job, computer developer, etc. Several students have even received high placement offers. There are various programs for B.Com students where several different guests visit; these guests are usually startup owners, small business owners, or even entrepreneurs. They give lectures about their journey and organize engagement sessions with the audience.
Infrastructure: The hostel timeline is not too good, nor is the food. The seniors in the hostel try to rule over the juniors like bosses. Students of the third year are capable of utilizing the facilities of the placement cell, whereas second years are only allowed to receive guidance. With practically everything maintained and cared for, there is nothing wrong with the college layout. Classrooms and labs are also first-rate. The college has two basketball courts, one volleyball court, and two cafeterias. The fisheries department has one storage tank and a 200-capacity auditorium.
Faculty: The teachers are genuinely caring and very helpful to the students anytime we need their support. Teachers are very motivating and also give the best quality teaching, which would not require getting separate tuition. Teachers always keep on tracking our progress, which is the best quality of the teacher here. Nevertheless, the college has excellent faculty. Semester exams are easy, and the pass rate is 78%. The teachers are well-qualified, but some dedicate their time to teaching us, while others just teach for the sake of it. And we can still reappear next year if we can't clear our papers.
Other: I chose this course as it would help me learn a lot of things regarding finance and accounting and it doesn't stick to one particular subject but teaches us different subjects per semester. Campus life is really good. There are various events happening in and around the college when there are no exams, and the college organizes a week for students with themes; this event is known as College Week and is a popular event among all the students and colleges in Kolkata.

Hi,
You have a chance of getting seat in your desired college with your percentile marks. Over the years, Great lakes will definitely get admission to MBA course at a cutoff percentile of 70 only, and 75 percentile is more than enough to avail the course.
