Satisfied because of the faculty, placement, but they don't give a scholarship to diploma students.
Placements: In our Swami Vivekanand University placement level is good, but it depends mostly on your department. In our Engineering department, it's all about more than 80% students being placed. In diploma EEE, the highest package is around 3.5 LPA, and the lowest is 1.8 LPA. Top recruiters are Schneider Electric and mostly are outside companies from Delhi, Chennai, and Pune. It's almost 95% students who get internships from our course. Top roles from my course are Jr. Engineer.
Infrastructure: If I talk about the infrastructure and facilities of my college, Swami Vivekanand University, then there is no complaint. The infrastructure, lab, equipment, and classrooms are all modern and standard level. Our department has a high-quality laboratory, and hostel facilities are moderate, not so good or not so bad. They didn't force you to stay in the college hostel, if you don't like it, then you can go to another private hostel. Food is also moderate, not too good. For sports, we have a large playground where every year sports functions take happened.
Faculty: Our faculty are really very helpful and very friendly. They come from a top-notch government university. Our Sir/ma'am is very conscious of our better understanding and teaches anything very smoothly, and for that reason, they teach any topic very briefly. The Course curriculum is relevant because our department has conducted many seminars and curriculum related to our field, and it makes us industry-ready. Our semester exams have too many difficult questions that are too tough, if anyone can't learn properly, then they can fail in exam. Almost the pass percentage is 70%.
Other: I chose this course because a diploma in EEE gives you a higher chance of getting a job in the industry. My cousin and brother are also doing this. In our college, the best thing about my course is our supportive faculty. I think the college should improve its connectivity. The college road is bad and broken, the area outside is crowded, and the roads are not big enough to handle the crowd and vehicles like e-rickshaws and autos. The events, fests, and campus crowd are good, but they do not provide a scholarship.

B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering (Lateral Entry) - Batch of 2025

Campus is very good and clean.
Placements: I belong to the B.Tech (ECE) batch of 2023, and my experience with placements and internships has been quite insightful. In our course, around 80-85% of students are successfully placed during the campus recruitment drive. Top recruiters for our course included companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Cognizant, Accenture, Tech Mahindra, and product-based firms such as Amazon, IBM, and Microsoft (through off-campus drives).
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of my course and hostel is overall well-equipped to support both academic and personal growth. Our department has access to spacious and smart classrooms with projectors and digital boards, which make learning interactive and engaging. Wi-Fi connectivity across the academic block is strong, ensuring that students can easily access online study material and resources. Computer labs are modern and updated with the required software, while the electronics and communication labs have well-maintained instruments for hands-on learning.
Faculty: Faculty members of our course have been one of the strongest aspects of the program. Most of the teachers are highly qualified, approachable, and willing to clear doubts both inside and outside the classroom. They not only have strong academic knowledge but also have practical exposure through real-world examples and project guidance. The course curriculum is fairly well-structured and updated with core subjects, electives, and labs that cover essential areas. It is designed in a way that builds a strong foundation in theoretical knowledge while also providing exposure to practical applications through internships, projects, and workshops.

B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2028

Good for a degree, but faculty quality and campus life need major improvement.
Placements: Placements in our university are average. Around 30-40% of students from my batch got placed. Highest package offered was around 6-7 LPA, lowest was 2-2.5 LPA, and average package was about 3-3.5 LPA. Companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Cognizant, and a few core companies visited. Some students also got internships in startups and mid-level companies, mostly in roles like software developer, web developer, support engineer, and trainee engineer. However, students with strong coding and communication skills have better chances of getting placed.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of SVU Barrackpore is decent but has scope for improvement. Wi-Fi is available, but the speed is not always consistent. Sports facilities are limited, and students expect better playgrounds and gym facilities. Hostel facilities are average. Rooms are manageable but sometimes overcrowded, and food quality in the mess is not up to the mark.
Faculty: Faculty in SVU Barrackpore is not very supportive. Many teachers lack proper industry exposure, and classes are often focused only on completing the syllabus rather than on practical understanding. Curriculum is outdated and does not match current industry requirements, especially in technical fields.
Other: Campus life at SVU Barrackpore is quite average. Crowd is mixed, with most students from West Bengal and nearby states. There are some cultural fests and technical events, but they are not very grand compared to other big universities. Connectivity is decent as the campus is near Barrackpore, but the surroundings are not very lively. Hostel and extracurricular activities need improvement, and students expect better sports facilities and more active clubs. Overall, campus life is manageable but not very happening.

I think its good in my budget. Overall, seriously, its good.
Placements: 90% students got placed, 25LPA was the highest package from ECE, companies like TATA, Wipro, Mahindra, etc. hire students. Top roles get TCS and Wipro, colleges provide on campus, but this was a new college, so they upgraded their placement, and they were actually doing well.
Infrastructure: Faculty members were too good, they teach very well, and they always ask. For doubt, in the classroom, there was a smart board on campus, and Wi-Fi was always available. Sports like football and cricket were free of cost, overall. College campus was good.
Faculty: Teacher was also educated, most of them were Ph.D. holders, and they always teach you well. Teaching quality was very good. There were two internal exams, one semester, and a practical exam. You have to score 30% in your exam. You must have 75% attendance.
Other: 15000 INR per semester. Overall, things are good in my course. I wish in the future I can claim a good Diploma degree, and I want to study further. Like B.Tech in ME. Other college fests are good in 6 months, there are 2 fests.

SVU is good, and only management is too busy.
Placements: Many students got placed at TCS and Wipro. Average students were placed in 5 LPA jobs, and the highest got 25 LPA in ECE. Now they are improving for placement, and new companies also come and review. Most visited company was TCS. Placement offers were not too poor, it was average.
Infrastructure: They were always busy with something. They should add more stuff from money matters. Library and classroom were excellent but management department did not have a plan for how to handle too much students. They also delayed in scholarship, except that all was okay.
Faculty: Teachers were too good. They explained everything from basics, and they made students ready for jobs. There were two internal exams both were 40 marks, internal topic, which they taught you in class, end term was 60 marks, this was difficult to score.
Other: I wanted to become an engineer that's why I chose this field. Best thing was programming language, and I liked it. I wish they would add a subject on how to solve a problem, basic to advanced, in exchange for physics and chemistry at SVU. Many fests were conducted by college management, activities like they trained you for football, cricket, karate, etc., what you like gym also.

A good and affordable college.
Placements: Very less students were placed in the previous batch. The average package was around 3 LPA. Don't know much about the companies. There were many roles offered like php developed and full-stack junior developed. In my batch, many companies come for recruitment so people are getting placed.
Infrastructure: The course infrastructure is good. There are many labs. All labs are working. They have computers and ACs. Wi-Fi is also available in all the buildings of the college. The library is accessible at any time of the day. It closes when the college is over. Overall, it's okay.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful. Their teaching is good. They help horrendous they can. The course is quite updated not the old syllabus like many colleges. The semester exam is not that hard as long as you attend classes and pay attention you are good to go.
