Swarnim Gujarat Sports University was established in 2011 by Government of Gujarat and is UGC approved. The university provides career programmes in the field of Sports Management, Sports Event Management, Sports Tourism, Sports Law, Sports Journalism, Sports Nutrition, Sports Physiotherapy, and Sports Massage. SGSU also offers MPhil and PhD in Physical Education and Sports Sciences and has more than 60 research scholars.
SGSU has collaborated with more than 30 universities in India and with more than 5 international universities. SGSU also played a pivotal role in organising events at the state level and national levels such as Khel Maha Kumbh, Pre Vibrant Gujarat Sports Summit, Vyayam Setu, and Water Sports at Narmada Park, Bharuch. SGSU offers more than 10 courses at UG, PG, and doctoral level. Furthermore, it also offers diploma and certificate courses.

Swarnim Gujarat Sports University Admission Process
- Admissions to SGSU undergraduate programme will be based on the merit list
- Admission to PG courses is based on the marks obtained in the Written Test/ Sports Proficiency Test/ Fitness Test, as organised by the university
- For admissions to SGSU Integrated MPhil and PhD course, candidates must have a master’s degree with a specialisation in physical education & sports sciences with a minimum aggregate of 50%
