May 22, 2025: The School of Agriculture & Allied Sciences celebrated the 6th World DNA Day programme. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Ashutosh Sawarkar, Head Agriculture Division, IRDM, Narendrapur, Kolkata. Dr. Sawarkar presented an interesting topic " DNA TO DINNER PLATE– How Genetics shaped the food we eat” covering the discovery of DNA, the scientists related to the integration of DNA with heredity, DNA extraction techniques, molecular techniques such as TILLING, gene editing, CRISPR/Cas9 technologies and their application in developing climate resilient futuristic crop ideotypes, designing customized varieties according to consumer need, space phyto-habitation, human origin, ancestry to cutting-edge modular genetics.

NTU Conducts National Seminar (Virtual) On “Recent Advances In Technology For Conservation And Management Of Turtle And Marine Mammals”

February 18, 2023: The Neotia University's Division of Fisheries hosted a national virtual seminar on "Recent Developments in Technology for Conservation and Management of Turtle and Marine Mammals" on February 16, 2023. (Thursday). Prof. H. Shivananda Murthy, Chair Professor, Division of Fisheries, The Neotia University, opened the event with a brief welcoming statement. Prof. Murthy introduced The Neotia University and welcomed the principal visitors, keynote speakers, participants, teachers, and students, highlighting the seminar's goal and the recent growth of fisheries on a national and global scale. The Neotia University's Vice Chancellor, Prof. Biswajit Ghosh, gave the opening address, and the chief guest, Suhas Mukherjee, Associate Vice President, Neotia University, addressed the audience.

This lecture attracted more than 300 attendees from around the nation and a few from abroad. Dr. Suman Takar, Assistant Professor & Head, Department of Fisheries Resource Management, Division of Fisheries Sciences, The Neotia University, gave a vote of gratitude at the conclusion of the event. There was a tremendous response, and participation was excellent. The participants gave extremely positive comments and expressed their appreciation for the speakers' sophisticated treatment of the topics and challenges as well as the effective organising of the event. The organising committee would like to take this opportunity to thank the University Management, various officers, and the Pro-Chancellor sir for their encouragement and assistance in making the seminar a success.

NTU Conducts Training Program For Fish Farmers On High-Tech Aquaculture Organized By The Division Of Fisheries Science

February 10, 2023: A three-day physical/on-campus training session has been organised by The Neotia University's Division of Fisheries Science for 50 selected fish producers from February 8–10, 2023, in the Seminar Hall of the SB-3 Building.
The opening ceremony took place on August 8 at 11:00 AM. Dr. Biswajith Ghosh, vice chancellor, Mr. Suhas Mukherjee, assistant vice president and director of admissions, Mr. Manish Jha, registrar, Prof. H. Shivananda Murthy, chair professor, and Mr. Debtanu Barman, chief executive officer of corporate aquaculture companies attended the ceremony. During the official ceremony, an MOU will also be signed with the names of Corporate Fisheries Industries, Aqua Doctor Solutions, Aqua One Center, and Aqua World.

More than 15 of the 50 farmers that participated were women, promoting gender equality and women's empowerment. Prof. H. Shivannada Murthy, Professor of the Fisheries Division, and four other outside specialists participated in the training session and gave lectures on various topics. In addition to hands-on exercises on campus, a field trip to a cutting-edge private fish farm was planned.

TNU Builds-Up Patent Promotion And Intellectual Property (IP) Cell

July 26, 2021: The Neotia University (TNU) not only assists its own faculty members, scholars, students, and neighboring academic and research institutions in their quest of new inventions and research, but also in maintaining their uniqueness by establishing their IP rights (IPR).

TNU and Biswajit Sarkar-IP Attorneys have inked an agreement to establish a Patent Promotion and Intellectual Property (IP) Cell at the university. The Patent Promotion and IP Cell's role is to support and assist our academic members in developing their intellectual property rights (IPR). The IP Cell will also assist and support nearby academic and research institutions/organizations in creating their intellectual property. The IP Cell is also planning a three-week international level Faculty Development Program (FDP) with three credits (40-45 periods). It is hoped that by bringing our university to the Global Academic Forum, we would be able to build many more similar academic units.

Its a good college recommendation.

Placements: A second year student, I have not entered the placement zone yet, but seniors say the digital marketing stream has decent opportunities. Companies like Infosys, Jaro Education, and Cognizant have recruited from our department. The average package is around 4 to 5 LPA, but internships play a big role in getting noticed.
