Yes, you can apply for an M.A. at TISS Mumbai regardless of your gap year. The gap year won't affect your application, as the minimum criteria to apply for an M.A. program is a bachelor's degree from a recognized university. You can simply clear the written assessment round of the TISS M.A. Program based on merit. However, you may face some issues in the personal interview round. They might ask you why you took a gap year. As long as you can answer this, you will have no issue at all getting admission to the master's program at TISS.
1. For instance, some UPSC aspirants have valid reasons for preparation. They can justify their preparation as a reason for taking a gap.
2. Some others are working professionals. They can even get preference in admission based on relevant experience.
3. In addition, the panel is usually supportive of housewives and women who want to continue their education. They must appear confident in the interview in order to justify their choice of a specific M.A. course.
4. If you have taken a gap year for any other reason, be confident and explain why you want to join the MA program at TISS.
