Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) - Batch of 2026
Offered by Annasaheb Vartak College of Arts, Commerce, Science

Dissatisfied with professors, placements, canteen, mess, etc. Everything needs to be improved.
Placements: There were all types of students in the B.Com course, the highest package of students was Rs. 3,60,000. A few students got placement from the college maximum of 3-4, not more than that. There were not more than 2-3 top recruitment companies, they just visited the interview and left.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is third-class. Broken washrooms, no hygiene, no cleanliness, we have to use the staff washrooms. Benches are broken, walls are scraped, and many more third-class and overrated food in the canteen. There are no sports or any other extracurricular activities done in college.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified but too arrogant, especially the principal. Topics are irrelevant in this course. We have botany in B.Com. We aren't able to choose our own subject, but we still have the right. College professors knowingly fail students so they can give the KT exam, which is their revenue. If students pay to recheck, the amount of rechecking is 75% of the KT fee.
Other: I wouldn't suggest anyone to take admission in a degree college, no events, no fest, nothing. Only junior college has privileges, we had only the ground, which is now covered by the law college.

The faculty here is superb.
Placements: Placement is quite ok in college. Companies visit the campus during the final year of students for placements. Many students secure a pre-placement offer while internships during their penultimate year or last year. I think the average package will go up to 7-8 LPA.
Infrastructure: In the hostel, single accommodation and double accommodation are also available. So when you are in your first year mainly you will mainly get double accommodation rooms, and when you go into the second year, you will get single rooms. Chair, Table, Almirah, Wall book track, will get in the room. Mess food is okay, you will get 4 meals, and the menu is different every day.
Faculty: In the LL.B. course, all are law subjects, not like the Integrated B.A. LL.B. course where half is law subject and half is graduation subject until the 3rd year. Faculty members are good, like if any new amendments on new case laws come, they will discuss that in class, and exam timing is also good.

It is a good college and I recommend it.
Placements: Almost everyone got placement; the highest package was 45k starting. One of my colleagues got into Kokilaben Hospital. Everyone got an internship; they even sent us to training to marathon, which helps with the infield experience of it, so like it was good.
Infrastructure: It was average—not that bad, but not that good, but it was decent, up to the mark of how it should be. But according to me, it could have been way better than this. I mean, it is a degree college in a way, so it could be better. They're saying a new branch will open.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are very helpful. I do not face any difficulty in that; even if I have, I can inform the authorities, and they solve it soon. The semester exam was actually a bit hard if you ask me, so like if you're smart enough, then only refer to it or don't.
Other: I was interested in physiotherapy; that's why I chose it.

It's really nice. All the faculty members are so good.
Placements: The percentage of students in our course is hardly 20-30%. There is nothing like an average package offered to the students. All the companies are related to sales, but our course is Computer Science. Most of the people are still jobless, and some of the people are doing jobs in sales.
Infrastructure: The facilities are really good because they provide Wi-Fi, electricity, and canteen services during college hours. I really like the library service. We have a digital library, which was my favorite part of college. The canteen service is also good but quite expensive.
Faculty: Teachers were helpful but very strict during the exam. The teaching quality was also very good. Students were not focusing on their studies, that's why they are not able to get jobs. They are not ready for the industry. The exams were really difficult. Most of the students always got KTs.
Other: I chose this because I was interested in Computer Science, I wanted to study cybersecurity; that's why I chose Computer Science.

Poor management in Terna.
Placements: 67.8% students get placement. The highest average package is 4.5 LPA, and the lowest average is 3.25 LPA. Top recruiting companies like TCS and Mahindra. Top roles include a full-stack engineer. Companies came and took aptitude in 1st round, which is easy.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good, but the canteen is not great. The lab and classroom are decent. Have a few indoor games like carrom, chess, and table tennis. Classroom is good, and a few have AC. Labs are good too, but the mess is not good, very poor, I didn't like it though Wi-Fi is provided.
Faculty: Teachers are good. They help you with your studies and also give good advice. Course curriculum is already set by Mumbai University, not that great. Mumbai University is not difficult to pass. The semester exam is good. Passing marks for the subject depend on the total marks. For an 80-mark paper, 32 is passing, and for a 60-mark paper, 24 is.
Other: I like technical stuff and also designing the website front and its functions, so I chose it. Every semester, we learn new things, which is the best part, rather than studying theory for the exam. I wish we have more business or real life like companies based oriented practical test. Events and fests are best.

Review of Sydenham College.
Placements: Around 40%-50% of students got placed. Every year in January, around 30 companies visit our college including some big companies like KPMG, SBI TRIDENT, etc., The average salary package offered is 3.5 LPA for the students who got placed. Sydenham College is well known for its placement.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is not as good as expected. It has one building that too very old and feels like a haunted house. It has a Gymkhana, where we have 3 games to play i.e., carrom, chess, and table tennis. Library of our college is very peaceful and we can study there for hours.
Faculty: Faculty of the college is not so good but most of the professors are very helpful. Also, they give importance to extracurricular activities which help students to grow in all fields. Examination of the college is not that tough. It is moderate.
