Vidyashilp University Initiates a Student-Industry Dialogue on Disruptive Careers at the Future of Higher Education Event

June 17, 2024: The Future of Higher Education by Vidyashilp University (VU) was a light of hope and inspiration, bringing together famous industry experts - Ullas Kamath, Pranav Pai, Aprameya Radhakrishna, and Dr. Subarna Roy - on a single platform. The evening featured energising discussions about the need for advanced education that promotes ambitious careers motivated by freedom of inquiry and personal interests. The event, held at the Prestige Falcon Towers, provided students and parents with useful insights about growing careers and methodology for success in a rapidly changing world.
Industrial professionals discussed global economic trends, India's predicted growth, emerging technologies and their uses, the increase of entrepreneurship, and how education may be tailored for industrial success - all with the goal of empowering future leaders. Prof. P.G. Babu, Vice-Chancellor of Vidyashilp University, opened the ceremony with a strong quote: "Love what you do, and do what you love; imagination should be the centre of one's life." He applauded NEP 2020 for embracing these ideals by allowing students to pursue non-core disciplines during their four-year undergraduate programme, fostering an interdisciplinary mindset.
“Fueling India’s $10 trillion and Karnataka’s $1 trillion aspirations, entrepreneurship stands as a critical catalyst. Favourable economic policies, focussed on infrastructure, education, and entrepreneurship have propelled the country to the forefront of the global landscape. India is now called the engine for future growth. It presents a golden opportunity to unleash economic growth, encourage job creation, and forge a lasting legacy,” said Kamath, igniting a spark in the young audience to become architects of their own destinies through entrepreneurship.
Sharing the importance of developing skills and qualities needed to adapt to the dynamic career landscape, Aprameya Radhakrishna, Co-Founder and CEO of Koo, Founder & Director of TaxiForSure, and Advisor to the Chancellor at Vidyashilp University, said, “In today’s world, students must educate themselves with real-time case studies, gain hands-on experiences, and identify their interests to discover themselves and effectively bridge any learning gaps,”
