Vardhman Mahaveer Open University was established in 1987 by the act of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. It is approved by UGC, DEB, AIU, and NCTE. It has five schools of study and offers UG, PG, diploma, certificate, and various courses to students. VMOU Kota is also accredited with an A Grade by NAAC.

Vardhman Mahaveer Open University, through various departments and five schools of study, offers undergraduate, postgraduate, Diploma, Certificate and various other courses to students. The schools of study under the Vardhman Mahaveer Open University are the School of Commerce & Management, School of Continuing Education, School of Education, School of Humanities & Social Science, and School of Science & Technology. Looking at the Cutoff list, the VMOU Cutoff 2024 to get admission into MSc in Chemistry was 77.03, for General Home State category candidates. Likewise, the OBC Home State category has the last-round score of 73.85 for admission to MSc in Chemistry. Therefore, it is difficult to get admission into VMOU at 70 percentile
