YCMOU BCom Eligibility & Highlights 2025

The School of Commerce and Management under YCMOU offers a three-year BCom programme at the undergraduate level. The maximum duration to complete the programme is six years. BCom at YMCOU is offered in the Open & Distance Learning (ODL) Mode in the English medium. The university also offers a BCom in Cooperative Management.

YCMOU BCom admission is based on the applicant's merit in Class 12 or equivalent examinations. Students who have passed the first year of BCom from any government-recognised university are allowed to take direct admission to the second year of the BCom programme. To be eligible for admission, applicants must meet any one of the following YCMOU BCom eligibility criteria:

Preparatory programme of YCMOU with minimum 40% marks and completed 21 years of age
Class 12 or equivalent examination of Maharashtra or other state HSC Board
Government-recognised diploma of a minimum of two years after Class 10

College life is hectic, fun, and full of chaos.

Placements: In my B.Com batch, there are 40+ students in one class, and there are two batches. I am in the last year and do not have any experience of placements, but I hear that the placements are good. The top recruiting companies for my course are Mahindra and other similar companies. Almost every student needs to do an internship compulsorily.

Infrastructure: Our college has good facilities and infrastructure with well-maintained labs, classrooms, and other amenities. The college does not have a hostel service. The infrastructure is not so big but is good and well-maintained. It provides better facilities and amenities to students. It includes a well-maintained play area and a program hall.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They help in solving problems easily and assist us in dealing with any issues. The semester exams in the college are not too difficult but moderate. Anyone who is familiar with the course will find them easy. There are even and odd semester patterns, which I think make the students industry-ready.

Other: I chose B. Com because I want to do an MBA after passing out. The course is very flexible and good. The thing I wish would improve about my course is having fewer subjects, as there are more subjects compared to other courses. The campus crowd is very good, and my college is also famous for events and fests. They hold great fests.

About City Premier College.

Placements: At least 90% of students get placed. The highest package is 32 LPA, and the lowest is 4 LPA offered by companies. Top recruiting companies are Wipro, Tata, and others. 70 to 75% of students get internships. Top roles that are provided are manager in multiple verticals, operation, and support roles plus technical roles are provided.

Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is very good. There are multiple labs and classrooms are neat and clean. For B.Com computer application, computer labs are available. Library is also there to study. There is no hostel provided by college, since I am from Nagpur I don't know much about it.

Faculty: Teachers are helpful and very skilled. They help us very much with preparation. The teaching quality is very good. The course is very good for the future, it provides much knowledge in business and IT industry. The exams are not that hard because teachers do make sure that everyone is prepared.

Other: I have my business so I don't want to learn more about business, management, and IT. I don't think there is a need for improvement in this course, because they already provide everything about the field. Multiple events and fests are provided by management. Scholarships are also available for students.

Good and bad college review.

Placements: Approximately 20% of students in the bachelor of commerce field got placed in the last campus placements in the college. I don't remember the highest or the lowest packages. The average package to every student is around 4 LPA. Companies like TCS and HCL have taken students from the college. Internship opportunities are minimal as the recruiters are solely focused on picking for filling the jobs which match their criteria.

Infrastructure: City Premier College is a 5-storey building with a playing space of not too many facilities for the actual playing of any sport but it is sufficient. The college gives you AC and computer labs with fully equipped technology. It has its own private Wi-Fi. The library provides knowledge of every aspect of a student's life.

Faculty: The college faculty consists of qualified professionals with a minimum of 5+ years of experience. The curriculum of academics is pretty much relevant from the point of view of students' growth and development. The semester exams are a bit difficult but not so tough that an average student with good studies can't clear the exams.

Other: I chose B.Com because it provides a wider range of career opportunities than its immediate substitute which is BBA. The campus crowd is very modern. I can say that not everyone can survive in this type of college.

City Premier talks and reality.

Placements: Around 150 students in my batch along with me got placements. My college has decent recruiting companies like TCS, Amazon, and many more. Roles offered in my course are coding and data management. The lowest salary package offered is 2 LPA. The average salary package offered is 4 LPA. Around 40-50% of students got internships because this course is a good base for further studies and competitive exams like CAT, CLAT, etc.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure is in good condition like labs, offices, classrooms, and library are better. But do not have personal ground for college which is a drawback because players cannot practice in college which takes college behind in sports. Canteen is not that good and does not have hostel facility.

Faculty: Teachers are very good, qualified, and supportive. Teaching quality is awesome. They make us industry-ready so that we perform better in our studies and mentor us. Exams are conducted with RTMNU and the difficulty level is moderate The passing mark is 40 for all subjects.

Other: The reason behind choosing this college is the crowd and surroundings we get here because we get new chances to explore and new expose to life here.

Satisfied with my experience in college, good placement and good infrastructure and facilities.

Placements: A 100% placement guarantee is given. The lowest package would be 2.5 LPA, and the highest could be 8-10 LPA for my course. Companies that offer placements include Infosys, Mahindra, Wipro, and many other well-known companies. All students got placed.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good. Every classroom has at least two air conditioners and a projector, and now smart TVs are being installed. An e-library is available for students, and labs are also very well-maintained. There is a gymkhana that anyone can access with an ID card. The canteen is good, and the staff is kind and friendly.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and provide information beyond the syllabus. We get to go on industrial visits to factories, wildlife areas, and courts, which helps us understand the syllabus in more detail. Semester exams are difficult, but the teachers prepare you by conducting tests in class, so the exams become easy.

Other: I chose this course because I wanted to go into the banking sector. One thing that could be improved is that subjects that include practical components should be done on computers, not in notebooks.
