CA Final May 2016 Topper: 3rd ranker loves watching FRIENDS & Game of Thrones

CA Final Topper May 2016 Rank 3- Yash Manojkumar Goyal

Having scored an impressive 599 marks out of a total of 800 in CA Final Exam held in May 2016, Yash Manoj Kumar Goyal secured the third rank. His percentage in CA final exam was 74.88%.

A BCom graduate, Yash enrolled for his CA course in 2012 and completed it in 4.5 years.

Yash shared that pre-preparation is always helpful when pursuing CA course as it gives you the added advantage to read as well as revise course material for some subjects.

A resident of Jamnagar, Yash Goyal shared some prep tips to help CA Final aspirants fare better in the exam.

Q Congratulations on behalf of Shiksha. So are you feeling and how is your family reacting to your success?

Ans. It definitely feels incredible. An ocean of joy flows through me and initially I was so happy that I could have had an emotional breakdown. My family is rejoicing every moment of this.

Q. Tell us about your score card in CA Final May 2016 Exam?

Ans. My score in CA Final Exam was 599. The score break-up was as follows:

  • Financial Reporting (FR)-84
  • Strategic Financial Management (SFM)-84
  • Advanced Auditing & Professional Ethics -56
  • Corporate & Allied Laws -72
  • Advanced Management Accounting (AMA) - 73
  • Information System Control and Audit -74
  • Direct Tax Laws (DTL) - 75
  • Indirect Tax Laws (ITL) -81

Q. What as per you was your success mantra?

Ans. It was nothing extraordinary. I feel all aspirants need to focus on some intricate points while studying. All students must definitely practice how to attempt question papers in practical subjects and also write test papers for each subject.

Q. How long have you been preparing for the CA exams?

Ans. I started preparing one year before the exams. I started my prep with littles stepping stones and then gradually scaled it up

Q. Did you join any coaching?

Ans. Yes I did. It was from Arihant Institute. I joined it for the entire CA course.

Q. Did you have some weak areas or did you face any hurdles while preparing?

Ans. Irritation was the only thing that was posing to be a problem while preparing for CA Final exam. Having so much to read and remember required a lot of effort.

Q. How did you deal with your strengths and your weaknesses while preparing?

Ans. I started preparing for the exams well in advance. This provided an edge, as I had time to undergo extra reading for some subjects. Pre-preparations are always helpful.

Q. Any preparation tips for aspirants?

Ans. Aspirants must always do some writing practice for practical subjects. It helps a lot as we are usually used to solving sums orally. Write tests for each subject. This will help increase your speed at the time of your exam.

Q. What advice do you want to give aspiring CA candidates?

Ans. Hang in the tough times. CA is not an easy nut to crack, but once you do, it opens a vista of opportunities.

Q. Tell us more about you as a person, your hobbies? Your likes and dislikes?

Ans. I like reading novels. I am also a big fan of American TV shows and sitcoms. F.R.I.E.N.D.S and Game of thrones being my favourites. I do not have any specific dislikes that I can speak of.

Q. What are your plans for the future?

Ans. I have been looking for jobs in either consultancy or in the industry.
