If you feel the need for a confidence boost-up then just try these two things- interact with new people and speak your mind. Just learn to grab every opportunity that comes your way and it’ll help you a lot in evolving.

After our graduation/post-graduation, we all desire to be a part of the corporate world but sometimes we’re not able to crack the placement drives. In this article, you’ll get a few pointers for the campus drive which mainly includes- Group Discussions and HR/PI interview.

GROUP DISCUSSION:

Group discussion is a very crucial part of any placement process. So, in order to crack this round, you need to stay focused on what you are going to talk about. Try to initiate the group discussion if you are confident about the topic. If you are not sure then try to listen to others so that it will give you a rough idea about the subject. Also, please do not try to change your views on the topic as the GD proceeds. Be a good listener, try to give others an equal opportunity to speak on the subject.

INTERVIEW:

  • In the interview room-> The two traits which helped me crack a job interview were- confidence and I learnt to be calm and always thought before I spoke. Another thing which has helped me while sitting in front of the HR was my body posture which was straight and my hands were firmly clasped on my lap or you can just rest them on your knees, palm-down. Using English for communicating is the preferable option but if you’re not so confident then just go for bilingual. Another thing you’ll need to keep in check is your attire which should be formal, neat and tidy.
  • Before the interview-> Prepare yourself before entering the interview room. Make sure that you’ve all the required documents and your resume must include every set of skill you possess as on date. Read the basic details about the company and what will be expected from you under the job profile. Just be prepared to face every question that’ll come your way. You might not get selected but you will definitely come out from that room with a new experience.
  • Some tips-> If you feel the need for a confidence boost-up then just try these two things- interact with new people and speak your mind. Just learn to grab every opportunity that comes your way and it’ll help you a lot in Present yourself as a good package to them so that they’ll look forward to work with you. Try to learn a new set of skills to become a more capable candidate.

Here are a few questions from my personal experience to help you out:

  1. What is “your name”?
  2. Tell us something about your family.
  3. Why did you choose our company?
  4. What are your salary expectations?
  5. Why should we hire you?
  6. Do you believe in working hard or smart?
  7. What are you passionate about?
  8. Where do you see yourself in ‘x’ years?
  9. What do you know about the profile?
  10. Technical questions (when you go for technical jobs just know the basics of the profile).
  11. Do you have any questions for me?
