The requirement of entrance exam varies course-wise. Aspirants are shortlisted for UG programmes except BTech based on their merit. Admission in PG-level courses, such as MCA, MA, MSc is merit-based. Candidates can get admission in these courses without passing any entrance exam.

Admission to UPES School of Design for courses such as MDes would require Class 10 and Class 12 qulaification with 50% along with 50% aggregate in graduation. Candidates must secure valid scores in accepted entrance exams such as UCEED/ UPESDAT. After qualifying the merit based criteria, candidates must appear for portfolio presentation and interview.
