Hostel Diaries: Lessons Beyond the Classrooms
The excitement and nervousness of living away from the comforts of home was coursing through my veins.
The first few days consisted of introductions and settling-in. The hostel rooms were small but soon the place became a haven. I had to share my room with several strangers who later became my friends. Everyone came from different walks of life but bonded with each other as we shared our meals, midnight tea and endless hours of discussion over assignments, dreams and everything else.
In college hostel, I created bonds with people that I cherish even today. The late-night group studies and watching movies made the hostel journey very memorable. However, the hostel mess food was very tasteless. But, this did not matter because the experiences I had with my friends and the memories we created, made the hostel life worth it.
Great Experiences
Along with the studies, we celebrated each other's birthdays and even used to bunk classes sometimes. According to me, all of this just added up to the fun of college life.
Our teachers always gave us the best advice and teachings that has helped me not just in academics but also made me a better individual, overall. After graduating, many of my personal skills also developed, including solving problems, time management and workload management. I wanted to start my career just after my studies, and today, I am working for a good firm.
My college organised various events and functions. I used to participate in events and activities so that I could gain more knowledge and learn new things. I also learnt how to give presentations confidently, which was possible because of the guidance of my teachers and friends.
Conclusion
My college life was marvellous, and I still think about it regularly. Today, looking back, I stand as a self-proud person, ready to build my career and face the challenges of life head-on. My college played a major role in this. I am very thankful for my college journey, which prepared me for my future endeavours.
