Q: What is the admission process of BCom (Hons) Program at O P Jindal Global University? And, what is the eligibility criteria?

A: The admission process for BCom (Hons) program at O P Jindal Global University involves three stages-

  • Online application form: which captures the personal statement. The form gives the management an idea of what student aspires to be in the future
  • Valid score of JSAT or equivalent qualifying exam: Students aspiring admission to BCom (Hons) program at JGU need to undergo university organised qualifying exam, JSAT or any other equivalent qualifying exam such as SAT, ACT, UGAT and LGAT-India
  • Personal Interview: Students who get through with initial rounds of screening and also have a valid score of the qualifying exam will then undergo a personal interview round with a panel of faculty members The panel tries to know more about the students’ area of interest

To be eligible for admission to BCom (Hons) program at Jindal Global University, the applicant must have successfully passed the Class 12 exams or it's equivalent from a recognised board such as CBSE, ISC, State Boards, IB, Cambridge and other Government Recognised Boards

 Q: What are the various specialisation options available to students?

A: The curriculum at JSBF is comprised of core and elective courses. Core courses are offered in Accounting; Finance, Economics, Management, Leadership, Law, and Quantitative Skills & Fintech. However, students have the option to choose electives out of four core areas:

  • Financial Planning and Risk Management
  • Banking Laws and Financial Regulations
  • Fintech and Analytics
  • Global Consultancy and Entrepreneurship

Q: What are the various career opportunities students can think about pursuing BCom (Hons) from O P Jindal Global University?

A: The programme opens up various career pathways for students. Basis the specialisation and electives, students choose during the curriculum, they can either choose to study further or get themselves a job.

Students of Financial Planning and Risk Management can further choose to study CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), CA, CS or MBA. They can also take up job opportunities in Investment Analysis or Investment Banking.

Students of Banking Laws and Financial Regulation can further choose to study Corporate Law, Data and Governance, CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), CA and CS or can start up their own business in same field.

Students of Fintech and Analytics can further to choose to opt for a career in Project Management or Research or can also go for MBA

Students of Global Consultancy and Entrepreneurship can take up career opportunities in Project management, Research or can start up their own business.

Q: What is the total cost of three BCom (Hons) program at O P Jindal Global University? Does University offer any scholarship?

A: The cost of three years BCom (Hons) programme at O P Jindal Global University is Rs 3 lakh per annum.

The University believes that the financial situation of the family should not be a hindrance for the students’ education. Hence offers Merit cum Means Scholarships every year that waivers tuition fee of the student. The eligibility criteria include annual family income, Class 12 board score, JSAT and standardised examination results and faculty interview score. Weightage will also be given to curricular and non-curricular achievements.

Besides this, it also facilitates student learning beyond the classroom as well as create opportunities for internships and placements. The department is also responsible for conducting the mock interviews and group discussion rounds to help students overcome their anxiety of facing interviews.

No, if you have any gap after Class 12, it will not affect admission to Jindal School of Banking and Finance BCom. The institute has not said anything about having a gap in academics. Students just have 50% marks in Class 12 and a valid score in the accepted entrance test.
