Career prospects for women in Bakery and Confectionary
Gone are the days when the females of the society were confined to a smaller place like their home. With the advancement of time and as we have moved forward women have become more independent and have broadened their space in terms of employment. It is the consequence of the family who believes in her dreams and gave her the wings to fly.
It is quite evident that in today’s generation many young females have become successful entrepreneurs while they were on their way of pursuing their hobbies. Bakery and confectionary are all about art and science, which almost every person enjoys the most and consequently many acquire it as a way to earn their living. In the present scenario, there are numerous pastry academies in India and abroad which help in inculcating those advance skills required for the job. None of us is born an expert. We do require educational institutions to nurture our skills and make them usable. To quote an example, pastry chef Mary Cech is been recognised as one of the ‘Top Ten pastry chefs in America’. She has amazing credentials. She started at the International Pastry Arts Centreand worked with renowned Swiss born-Master Pastry Chef, Albert Cumin. She had two simple goals-learn from the best and work in the best places to become the best. “It is the quality and self-determination shapes who you become”.

Furthermore, there exist ample career opportunities for talented individuals. They can work in 5-star hotel bakeries, restaurants, stand-alone bakeries, chocolate producing units, cruise ships, while many of the females prefer to work for themselves and start-up with their bakeries or cafes, Home bakery in it is a great concept prevailing these days, as one can cater to fewer orders and simultaneously showcase their natural aptitude. Nowadays, it is very exciting to see many women making artistic bread, cakes, and chocolates as you scroll through the media pages. It is indeed all colourful and appeals to their potential clients to purchase the edibles.

In a nutshell, women with baking skills are not just restricted to work in hotels. Rather, there exists a wide range of employment opportunities. To add on, I would like to conclude by stating that no work is painless and sometimes we go through lots of rejections. But in the end, it is our efforts and hard work that lifts us and helps us to create a difference.
