Chandigarh University begins entrance-cum-scholarship test to reward talented students
Talking about the varsity’s initiative, Pro-Chancellor of the university, Professor RS Bawa stated that Chandigarh University launched the test to motivate and give reward to talented students.
Chandigarh University (CU) launched a national-level entrance-cum-scholarship test, CUCET-2021, on January 22, 2021, onwards. According to the reports, the entrance-cum-scholarship test offers Rs 33 crore for students to earn. Talking about the varsity’s initiative, Pro-Chancellor of the university, Professor RS Bawa stated that Chandigarh University launched the test to motivate and give reward to talented students. It will offer a golden chance to students to earn scholarships worth Rs 33 crore.
Mr Bawa further added that the online examination offers flexibility to students to choose their slot and make them eligible to grab academic scholarship up to 100 per cent in the course of their choice. Students belonging to engineering, MBA, pharmacy, integrated law and agriculture programmes are mandatory to take the test, however, for the other programmes the online examination offers an opportunity to grab scholarships.
In order to facilitate students a destination to register for the entrance-cum-scholarship test, Dr Bawa also inaugurated the online portal https://cucet.cuchd.in/.
Talking about the Chandigarh University which is at the 24th place among universities in India, Dr Bawa said the university felicitated 1,200 students to study abroad. He said 182 students from the Majha region bagged campus placements at top-notch MNCs last year (2020).
Chandigarh University has also emerged as the first university of India to have established an academic tie-up with 306 top-ranked universities across the globe and more than 1,200 university students had been provided with an opportunity to do internships, semester abroad, part of joint research initiatives at the world’s top universities by the Department of International Affairs at Chandigarh University.
According to the professor, the campus has approximately 30,000 students and more than 7,000 students from Punjab were currently studying 135 programmes at the university campus. Meanwhile, the record of the University in the fields of sports and culture is also extraordinary.
