The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) for utilizing the tele-lecturing facility of the Gyan Darshan channel. The move comes with an aim to facilitate an increase in the reach of advocacy initiatives. This will ensure collaboration in utilizing the tele-lecturing facilities of IGNOU's Gyan Darshan Channel for telecast of Awareness Programmes through distance learning mode. 

The MoU was signed by Santosh Kumar Shukla (Executive Director, IBBI) and Banmali Singh (Registrar, IGNOU) in the presence of M. S. Sahoo (Chairperson, IBBI), Prof. Rajendra Prasad Das (Officiating Vice-Chancellor, IGNOU), Sudhaker Shukla (Whole Time Member, IBBI), Srikant Mohapatra (Director, IGNOU) and officers of the IBBI and IGNOU. 

While addressing the ceremony, the Chairperson, IBBI, M S Sahoo applauded IGNOU’s successful journey of more than three decades to emerge as a front runner people’s university extending cost effective solutions; in the process, IGNOU has carved a niche for itself with wide recognition and presence.

He further said that it is heartening to engage with IGNOU to provide seamless access to sustainable and learner-centric quality awareness programmes and training to various stakeholders of IBC by using innovative technologies. He emphasized the synergies between IBBI’s mandate and that of IGNOU, to be realized through this initiative. 

Appreciating the initiative of IBBI, Officiating Vice-Chancellor, IGNOU, Prof Rajendra Prasad Das highlighted that IGNOU caters to over 3 million students in India and other countries through 21 Schools of Studies and a network of 67 Regional Centres, around 2,000 Learner Support Centres and 20 overseas institutions, making it truly the peoples University.
