K. Ramakrishnan College of Engineering (KRCE) is an engineering educational institution established in 2008 in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. It is an autonomous institution and is affiliated with Anna University, Chennai. KRCE is an ISO certified institution and is accredited by NAAC with an ‘A’ grade and by NBA. It is also approved by AICTE, New Delhi. KRCE offers multiple courses in engineering and management fields for its students and provides various facilities such as a hostel for boys & girls, library facilities consisting of numerous study resources, a canteen etc.

KRCE has distinct in-campus hostel facilities for its students with separate dining facilities for girls and boys. KRCE has a 24*7 wi-fi enabled hostel with high internet connectivity. The terrace of the hostel is accommodated with numerous solar panels, making it one of the most sustainable hostel campuses in the surrounding. The institute is equipped with a 24*7 in-campus ATM facility for the convenience of the students. 

Students from various regions of Tamil Nadu avail of hostel accommodation services. Boy’s hostel of KRCE has the capacity to accommodate more than 1,200 students, whereas the girl's hostel can accommodate more than 950 students.

 Mess Facilities 

There are two hostel campuses for boys and girls that are distinguished apart within the campus, and the dining hall is located within it. There is a proper mess timing every day that is followed and maintained for providing breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner to the resident students. Students are provided with vegetarian & non-vegetarian varieties of food and a TV is placed within the dining hall.

Students are provided with bathroom facilities which have separate heaters with a regular water supply. Attendance in the hostel is taken on a regular basis using a biometric device to ensure the students' presence within the hostel and it is monitored by the hostel warden. The hostel is fully is always under the watch of security guards and CCTV. Each hostel is provided with washing machines and a medicinal facility during the time of emergency. 

There is a website portal called Smart Hostel in which the hostel students can apply for leaves, and it is accessible from anywhere at any time on any device. The rooms in hostel have fans, study tables and chairs, iron shelves and bed cots for its students. Four-member sharing is the most common hostel accommodation type in KRCE, however, single, or two-member room can also be preferred based on student’s willingness.
