Inaugurated in 2008, K. Ramakrishnan College of Engineering (KRCE) is an autonomous engineering institution located in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. KRCE is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai and is an ISO certified institution. The institution is accredited by two national accreditation bodies NAAC with ‘A’ grade and NBA also KRCE is approved by AICTE, New Delhi. KRCE afford two streams of courses: Engineering and Management t along with numerous facilities to facilitate its students.

Under Engineering the institute offers B.E., BTech and M.E. as its degree programs. Each course has its own Head of the Department (HOD) and faculty members along with various laboratory facilities. Of the above-mentioned courses, B.E is the oldest course as well as the top course offered in KRCE. KRCE started offering PG courses in later years. Recently, during the Covid-19 pandemic, the institute launched its all-new BTech advanced degree program, which has four courses in it. Under the BTech program, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is the recently launched course in the year 2021.
UG courses such as Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and Mechanical Engineering (ME) are accredited by NBA. The duration of all the UG courses offered in KRCE is four years, whereas for PG courses it is two years.
UG applicants are admitted to KRCE based on their scores from the 10+2 examination and are selected via the Anna University counselling process. PG candidates are selected through scores in their UG degree and entrance examinations. The following table enlists the number of intakes each year:
