Q: What is the difference between PGDM and MBA programme?
A: Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) is a diploma programme offered by B-schools and colleges that are recognised by Government of India’s nodal body for technical education All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). And, Masters in Business Administration or MBA is a degree course offered by the universities (both Government and private) and colleges affiliated to these universities.
PGDM curriculum focuses more on facilitating practical exposure to students through various guest lectures, seminars, workshops, industry visits and use of real-life case studies. However, the MBA curriculum is regulated by the university and focuses more on theoretical knowledge.
Q: What is the eligibility criteria and selection process for admission in PGDM Program at ITM B-School?
A: The selection is based on a composite marking system which includes minimum of 50 per cent score in 10th, 12th and Graduation, prior work experience (if any), qualifying test scores such as CAT, MAT, XAT, GMAT, CMAT, ATMA, STATE, CET and MHCET, and MPPI (Micro Presentation and Personal Interview) Performance. Basis academics performance and qualifying test results, students receive a call letter from ITM Business School with topics of Micro Presentation from which they can choose the topic of their choice and present the same to the management. The presentation is followed by personal interview.
Q: What are the placements trends? Can you share some insights on placements?
A: The placements ratio is 95 per cent and five per cent. There are students who choose to join their family business. Recruiters such as Landmark, JP Morgan, Colgate, Hindustan Unilever, HDFC bank, Deloitte, Lodha have shown active participation in placements sessions. The highest package offered till date has been Rs 22 lakh, while the average package is about Rs 8.5 lakh.
Q: Do companies have any eligibility criteria for placements?
A: Few companies have criteria such as minimum of 60 per cent score in academics. But, the majority of companies do not have any eligibility criteria. Selections are made purely on the basis of students performance during interview sessions.
Q: What is the course fee and hostel fee for two year PGDM program?
A: The course fee for two-year programme is Rs 10.45 lakh. With AC hostel, the feel goes up to Rs 14.30 lakh and without AC hostel, the fee is Rs 13.70 lakh.
The school also offers scholarships ranging from 10-100 per cent. The last date to apply for scholarships is January 20, 2020. A total of 100 scholarships were given in the year 2019 and this year we are aiming at giving over 150 scholarships.
Q: Does college facilitate international internship opportunities?
A: The school facilitates internships but not internationally. It is mandatory for students to undergo five months of internship programme facilitated by the institute. However, we have tie-up with Singapore University for students exchange program for up to 10 days.
Q: Is there any registration charge?
A: Yes, an application charge of Rs 1,500 has to be paid by the student at the time of registration.
