Mica Concludes India's Largest Thre-Day Annual Marketing Festival Micanvas

January 4, 2021: Following its legacy, MICA recently concluded its three-day annual marketing festival, MICANVAS which was a culmination of challenging events, fun tournaments, and enthralling performances.

This year the event witnessed the participation of over 15,000 students across B-Schools battling each other with their wit and innovative thought on the 'ALT REALITY' theme. Oddly, all participants were taken on a simulated campus tour to fill the gap of not being on campus.

The festival held different seminars such as 'Advanced Copywriting and Brand Storytelling' by The Scribbled Stories, ‘Modern Dating’ with Paromita Vohra, and Agents of Ishq' followed by a series of innovative contests such as Cinematica: The Movie Marketing Contest and Jingle Junkie: Ultimate Brand Jingle Challenge.

On the second day of the event, the institute invited eminent personalities to interact with the students such as Director, Marketing and Consumer Connections, Nestle India Rashi Goel; Founder of School of Meaningful Experiences, Rakesh Godhwani; LGBTQ activist and drag artist, Sushant Divgikar; and, Creative Director at Schbang, Aditya Mehendale.

MICA welcomed eminent foreign communications stalwarts on the last day, including The Father of Modern Branding, Dr David Aaker, Vice-Chairman, Ogilvy, and Mather Global Group, Rory Sutherland. Dr David Aaker, speaking about branding and advertisement, said, "Stories attract attention, descriptions do not, and owning a game-changing sub-category is the only way to grow the brand (with rare exceptions)."

MICA students Hritik Jain and Mathew Abraham won the holiday marketing challenge titled 'The Ultimate Holiday Ideator’. On the other hand, Sakshi Vishwa from MICA won the 'Hashtag Movement' competition that required her to formulate campaigns and deal with social media influencers' crises. Three gruelling days and 11 rounds later, Raafid Azim, a first-year MICA student, won the 'The Last Manager Standing' competition and bagged the cash prize for Rs 100,000.

MICA Invites Applications for MICAT-2; Last Date to Register January 20

December 16, 2020: After a positive response from MICAT-1 exam, Ahmedabad-based MICA institute is all set to conduct MICAT-2 exam on January 30, 2020. All PGDM/PGDM-C aspirants who could not appear in MICAT-1 or who want to appear for the second attempt can apply. The last date to apply is January 20, 2021.

The turn-out of MICAT-1 through 45 centres was over 90 per cent, amid incredibly difficult circumstances due to the global pandemic. MICAT is a computer-based exam administered twice a year and the best of the two scores is considered as the candidate may choose to apply for both the exams. The Institute has reduced the exam duration by 30 minutes this year. For the current year, the duration of MICAT has been shortened from 2 hours 45 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes.
