Since childhood, I wanted to become a Software Engineer or a Programmer, but my father always wanted to make me a Doctor.  As per my father’s wish, I took pure science stream in Class 11^th. I tried my best to achieve good marks in Higher Secondary examination.  I worked hard but couldn’t score that much of number. I also appeared for Joint Entrance Examination but there also I got average marks. With such marks, I couldn’t take admission in the medical colleges. I was very upset at that time. One day, one of my teachers gave me an idea as to how could I make my dreams come true. He told me about Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) and guided me with the way to get admission in BCA.

I tried to get admission in highly decorated colleges such as Adamas, B.P Poddar, and Techno India etc. But the economic condition of my family was not well. So I searched for low cost colleges at the same quality of academics and placements. Then I found one - Eminent College of Management and Technology - ECMT. I contacted one of the faculty members Mr. Sandip Mukherjee, and asked him about the procedure to get admission in the college. He told me to come to the college and have a look around the campus. When I reached the college for the first time, I was just impressed by the serene atmosphere and the infrastructure. The college has a fully green campus, and the location is just awesome in one word. Now I think that was the best decision of my life to choose Eminent College of Management and Technology.

How I cracked college admission

To get admission in ECMT, I was asked to fill up an application form, where I had to put all my details, including my Higher Secondary and Madhyamik results. Then I was told to start preparation for the entrance test CET. The syllabus for CET mainly covered the basics of English, Math, General knowledge, and Logical reasoning. I solved few sample question papers online and studied online for the same. The exam was not much difficult. One can easily get good rank by having a little bit good preparation. I ranked 740 in the entrance test.

How I made the most of my college years

Most of my time is spent in the classrooms attending lectures, labs and workshops. Attendance here is taken seriously because if you are not present in class then you aren’t getting the attendance for that class. Apart from the classroom, I spent most of the time in the canteen during recess which is the best place to spend time with friends and the most important is the sports area which is in our campus where we play Football, Cricket, Carom, and Table Tennis, etc.

The college continuously provides an array of extra-curricular opportunities to the students through seminars and events. The college has given me many opportunities which have really helped me gain knowledge and experience to develop my personality.
