College prepares us with the finest academics and platform to generate dreams into realities, says Shreya
I preferred Commerce in school because I have an interest in Finance from the beginning only. Commerce is a very interesting stream as it has subjects like Accounting, Economics, Business Studies, Mathematics and English of course where Accounting and Business studies were my favourites. Commerce isn't all about theoretical things but more of a practical exposure because we don’t just study from our textbooks but also from our surroundings as the business world is dynamic. So basically, it helped me to be aware of my surroundings, to develop myself in the developing environment and how to be more confident in myself.
Right now I am studying in Jagannath International Management School, Kalkaji, New Delhi. The institute has excellent placements with top recruiters. It is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). It is ranked by NIRF in the top 100 institutions in India.
Overall I chose this college because I heard a lot about it from my family and friends so I wanted to experience my college life at this great place. The faculty and staff here is too good and helpful. It feels like home here.
I am pursuing BCom from the JIMS Kalkaji. H. It’s a very interesting course and has a great scope. The opportunities are huge in both private and government sectors across sectors such as finance, economics, banks, corporate.
Cracking entrance wasn’t that tough because I never took this thing as pressure on my brain. I had a very positive and motivating environment for studying. I used to take breaks in between a good diet and a great sleep which kept me healthy. From the beginning only I preferred self-study and made my own notes because that was the best thing. I gave many entrance exams like IPMAT, DU-JAT, SET, CUET, NTAT, IPU- CET. I cleared exams for colleges like Symbiosis and Christ University also but those colleges were not as worth as JIMS Kalkaji - Jagannath International Management School. I didn’t take any coaching for entrance exams because the syllabus for every exam was almost the same the basic subjects were quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, general knowledge and english. I took help of Youtube, Google and some specific books for the entrance test and they were more than enough. I was trying for DU-JAT also, but I couldn't get it, which sit right with me now as I fully enjoy by life as a fresher in this wonderful college, I meet so many friendly and helpful people and I actually looking forward for the rest of my experience.
College life is considered a bridge in our lives between our school days and our career. It prepares us with the finest academics and platform to generate dreams into realities.
My experience as a fresher since I have joined Jagannath International Management School is mixed with fun, freedom, experiments, and responsibilities. There are many clubs and activities to do in our college and they all help us to learn new things regularly. It’s a great experience I spend most of my time there only. I am in the part of many clubs and society like social media, e-cell and excellence society. They all are very interesting and help us to grow. Not only they teach us different skills but also how to do teamwork and manage things. If I ever got a chance I would love to be a part of theatre society and enhance my skills in that was how confronting the environment is, and how friendly and helpful our seniors are. It has provided me a space to grow and learn and today I am very confident about myself.
