Faculty are very forthcoming to guide all the students in need, says Akshun
After schooling, I wanted to do a course in Hospitality Management and hence, I chose to go ahead with Vedatya Institute. I had previously done a course in farm-to-fork cooking at Vedatya, while I was in school, and I really liked the course, the faculty and the campus. During that course, I got to know that Vedatya offers many extra-curricular activities and also has its own farm where students can learn about the different methods and activities of farming, along with pursuing the Hospitality course. These factors made me very eager to join Vedatya Institute to help me find my career path for the future.
Although physical classes did not start due to the Covid pandemic and the looming uncertainty, we started the first semester with online classes. I was initially hesitant about this mode of study but the professors made all of us comfortable with online classes and I slowly got the hang of it. After a few sessions, it felt like normal classes as I got familiar with all the faculty members and also got friendly with my fellow students easily. I was able to understand the topics and curriculum and give answers to my module leader and this made me feel confident in front of the whole class.

I like the subjects and the professors are very helpful. The faculty members help me understand the subjects and the programme office also helps me a lot. They are very forthcoming to guide all the students whenever someone reaches out to them. Their constant guidance and advice have made me very comfortable and I find it as good encouragement for me.
The subjects that I like the most are Housekeeping and Front office and I am getting to learn about Food and Beverage Operation and Food Production. I have also learned about reflective writing and after making several submissions of my reflections on various subjects like Branding Self and Effective Communication, Housekeeping, Front Office and others, I understand how to improve my knowledge of the subjects and how to perform better with the course. I am also an active participant in group assignments, wherein our batch is divided into different groups and we are assigned a project by our module leader which we have to complete and submit as a group. I have also got to learn about group discussions and am learning how to participate actively in the sessions. Not just the curriculum, but the faculty here also teaches the most basic things in life like writing a resume and prepare for an interview session.

Learning about these aspects in Semester 1 helped me enhance my self-confidence and knowledge.
I was very excited when I got a chance to participate in the talent show during the orientation week and I played the Tabla.
The first semester has been very productive and educative for me and I look forward to joining the physical classes and interacting with the professors and fellow students. I am also looking forward to participating in extra-curricular activities such as football, basketball, cricket and other sports. I am also keen to participate in the various farming activities which Vedatya offers at their farm.
