I see an opportunity in digital marketing as we are getting prepared for the digital platform, says Mihir

Well, I choose humanities in Class 11, as my parents are bureaucrats, their image and work influenced me and I took humanities as an option in Class 11. I performed well in school and participated in many Olympiads and debates on polities and geographic conditions of nations which leads me to go into legal studies.

In graduation, I chose law as a specialisation for straight five years. During this period of time, I participated in many moot courts and most of them were corporate or civil. These moot courts prepared me and made me reliase of my interest in the corporate sector

After completing graduation, I realised the need for a management degree to be industry-ready. After extensive research about the institutes offering PGDM programme, my search ended at Lexicon Management Institute of Leadership and Excellence because of one of my cousins who did his PGDM from this college and he was placed in Capgemini Pune and he is doing good. Looking at his success story, I decided to choose this college.

If I talk about cracking admission in Lexicon, they got two-level entrance tests for their institute. As per my experience, I was given a management case study that had a questionnaire with 6-7 questions to be answered in a span of 30 minutes.

After jumping this hurdle, I got selected for the skype interview which was taken by Dr Vineeta Aggarwal. She asked me about my graduation. As I am from a legal background, so the questions were mostly about future goals and aspirations. The interview lasted for over an hour and went well.

Apart from the PI round and the case study round, the applicant has to mandatorily undergo a nationally accepted management qualifying exam. I appeared for CAT, MAT and CMAT. I didn’t go for any coaching classes for these exams. Symbiosis Hyderabad for Telecommunication, Jaypee Institute of Management Studies, were the two colleges that I got admission to. I didn’t face any kind of challenge while taking admission into this college. As the admission team of this institute is so supportive and helpful.

Spending time at college is just a dream for me now as we are trapped for the last one year in the scenario of this pandemic. But our college has provided us a full-time induction in Goa, they are conducting a full-time online lecture. I spend my time in lectures with the same fun I use to do one year back, like- Interacting with mentors, cracking jokes with mentors and fun activities during lectures.

I am a member of the media and marketing committee of my school so this already includes extra-curricular activities for me as I handle video content for the institute that has to be on the social media handles of the institute.

If given a chance, I would like to handle the placement cell activities of the college because whatever we do in the institute or whatever we learn, but at last, everyone aspires to have a quality placement.

Well, as we all are attending online lectures so the experience of college has changed us into a gadget expert, online software expert and getting certification.

I see an opportunity in digital marketing as we are getting prepared for the digital platform and have been working on different channels of social media.

“I don’t have any plans at this time, my main focus is on grabbing the placement from my institute. Since I was into drama so, in the future, I would love to open my startup on online auditions that will aim at encouraging talent across the country.
