I appeared for the MAT exam by consulting a few friends and used the internet for preparation. Though the questions were easy, still I felt the need to join some institute but couldn’t as the time was less and my target was high. By God’s grace, I scored 80% in MAT.

I wanted to learn something new and was interested in exploring the business world too that’s why I opted for Commerce stream and gradually Accountancy subject became my favorite one. Since everything was new therefore the interest in the same was intact. I scored well in Class 12, in 2016. Also, this was the year of demonetisation which had a rippled effect on the entire economy and more specifically on each and every business that I knew. Thus, learning more about business was the need of the hour. BCom cut-offs at Delhi University generally go high and so I had no other option than to study well and score well. I scored 92%.

After completing my graduation, I was selected in TCS but for an entry-level job and the salary was very less. Then I thought of doing MBA so that I can develop my personality, acquire some skills and get a good job in a good company with a decent salary. At present, I am working with in S&P Global as a Data Researcher. This upgradation in my qualification has led to improvement in my career profile.

I, after my graduation clearly understood that the world out there is very competitive and I need to prepare for some entrance exam. I appeared for the MAT exam by consulting a few friends and used the internet for preparation. Though the questions were easy, still I felt the need to join some institute but couldn’t as the time was less and my target was high. By God’s grace, I scored 80% in MAT.

Q:   Does JIMS Kalkaji, Jagannath International Management School offer hostel facilities?
A:
Not yet, but the campus is still working on it.

After the results were announced, I started shortlisting colleges that accept MAT scores such as JIMS, NDIM and BULMIN among others. I was very confused and hence started evaluating the choices available basis their pros and cons. Delving deep into my research, I got to know that JIMS Kalkaji - Jagannath International Management School offers merit scholarships to students. And, I was eligible for the same. Moreover, the institute organises the international trip for International Business (IB) students. The alumni of the institute shared positive feedback regarding the opportunities, and facilities available at the institute for a quality learning experience. I decided to apply for admission at JIMS Kalkaji and hence got the opportunity to appear for GD and PI sessions. I got through.

I had a great time in college, despite the fact that I was only there for a brief time. Initially, everything was done online throughout the first trimester. This was both a time of learning and one of being upset. Though internet learning was a phase, I quickly grew accustomed to, the fact that I couldn't attend physical classroom sessions was a turnoff. When the UGC and AICTE authorised colleges to open for students, the canteen was the most popular hangout. In the canteen, we used to have our regular and social get-togethers. Our birthday celebrations, which made our social cohesion strong, took place exclusively in the canteen because it is large enough for students.

I was always strong in academics and joined a co-curricular club supporting some Intra and inter-college events. Also, I  enjoyed supporting NSS events such as the visit of old age homes and some donation drives.

If given a chance I would like to attend offline classes on campus. Though not only I but my entire section was very happy with this mode of convenience but the cons of the virtual world cannot be ignored completely. It was an era of impersonalisation and thus that calls for my affirmation to experience college life in reality.

My college life has now changed me into a better person as more fulfilled and more confident as now I am placed with S&P which is a dream come true! I want to thank JIMS Kalkaji after I thank God.
