An overview

SIESCOMS has always strived to actively engage with all its recruiters across various sectors when it comes to both, summer internships and executive placements. “Competence” and “character” are two key traits that the B-school tries to inculcate among all its students via its full-time PGDM and MMS courses. Since its inception, SIESCOMS has largely maintained its placement record between 95 to 100 per cent. A major reason for the same is the courses that are designed to meet the corporate world’s demands and skillsets. This, in turn, helps the students a lot in being well-equipped to take on the challenges and fully leverage the opportunities in their respective professional careers with confidence. The college aims to cultivate the professional, technical, and social skills which would enable a student to not only survive in a job but also thrive in it and set a benchmark for others.

Sector-wise placement details and key stats

SIESCOMS commenced its placement season for its 2021-22 academic batch of its fulltime MMS and PGDM courses on October 18, 2021. Despite facing some hurdles due to the COVID pandemic and an economic slowdown, the college was successful in clocking 95% placements for first-year students and an impressive 96% placements for its final-year students. Along with the tireless and unremittingly working placement committee, major credit for this success goes to the vast alumni network, which unanimously came forward to ensure and assist the students to secure good job offers in reputed companies as early as possible. Recruiters from sectors such as Banking and Insurance, IT, Financial Services, FMCG, Consulting, etc. hired the maximum number of students; BFSI being the largest among all the recruiters.

Some vital statistics of the 2021-22 batch final placements are as follows:-

  • Total student participation – 348
  • The average salary of the top 100 students – INR.5 lacs
  • Highest salary – INR 20 lacs
  • Median salary - INR 98 lacs
  • Average salary - INR 05 lacs
  • Number of total recruiters who participated - 247
  • Number of new recruiters - 48
  • Increase in 2021-22 batch average job package over 2020-21 batch - INR82 lacs

Some key statistics of the 2021-23 batch summer internships are mentioned below:-

  • Highest stipend - INR 61,000 (per month)
  • Average stipend - INR 21,500 (per month)
  • Total number of recruiters who participated - 175

Prominent Recruiters

Some of the prominent recruiters who made their presence felt during the final placements season are Axis Bank, Amazon, Airtel, Deloitte, Nestle, KPMG, Glenmark, Zee

Entertainment, DHL, ITC, ICICI Bank, Panasonic, and TCS. When it comes to the summer internship, companies such as Wipro, Aditya Birla Capital, LTI, Outlook India, and Indian Oil Corporation, among others, offered projects which surely endorsed a mutual benefit to these companies as well as the students. The college has also published some links on its official website, which includes an in-depth list of the internship projects offered to students across all three PGDM courses. It will give an insight as to what kind of aptitude and attitude is expected from the students once they begin the two-three crucial months of their respective internship journeys.

Conclusion

One thing to note is that, purely from the placement's point of view, the PGDM Core and MMS batches have traditionally bagged better placements as compared to the PGDM Pharma and Biotech courses. To sum it up, one should not only be well-prepared to sail through the placement season of SIESCOMS but also try to excel among the top 20-30% of the entire batch to secure a more lucrative job. Considering the rising average CTC packages of the 2021 & 2022 batches, one can assume placements to be much better in the upcoming years.
